I have found Amex to do some "creative billing" on their statements when you have a dispute, they say they suspend the charges while in dispute but in fact they simply spin them to another portion of the balance due. And then decline the dispute because their stock is sliding!
Misleading and sneaky...use CASH...merchants will usually give you a nice discount for it if you ask! FIGHT BACK...USE CASH...TAKE THE PLASTIC OUT OF YOUR WALLET! |

I recently discovered fraud on my AMEX blue card. I had less than 200 available credit and someone from AMEX approved a fraudulent $1400 purchase for an airline ticket to Spain. This occurred immediately after the billing cycle ended early in the month, so I did not discover the fraud for weeks. They assure me that they have turned this over to their fraud department, and have "suspended" the charges. Yet, they also say that if I choose to pay off my account now, that I must pay the fraudulent charge and they will reimburse me later "when it is settled." I still have not been able to speak with the "fraud specialist" who is supposedley working on this action. We will wait and see what happens. I am not holding my breath. I will never use AMEX again. I always had such faith in them, but that faith is gone. I have called repeatedley, and am now hiring a lawyer to take care of this.

I am very unhappy with AMX after over 10 years of using american express and using their merchant card in our business. They out of the blue cancelled without explination all 3 of my AMX card. For 10 years I have paid the minimum or more, on time , every time. It happened in the middle of my trip (vacation). I had to scramble to redo all my auto pays, and almost missed my whole vacation. My company purchase over 200k every year and this is the treatment I get from them. I too want Mr. Kenneth I. Chenault EMail address.

I had AMEX for many years, corporate and AMEX Blue for personal. In December 2007 they raised my interest rate to 29% on a $1500 balance for no reason - they said I was ONE day late (which I wasn't I have the bank records) on a payment. So I paid it off and cancelled all my AMEX accounts. IDIOTS!

You don't need Ken Chenaults e mail address. You should be making a formal complaint to the FDIC, and the FTC when you get screwed over by AMEX. This includes when they won't honor their offers you receive in the mail, the fraud comment above, or when they don't comply with federal or state banking laws. This is the best way to get results. Go to
FDIC.gov and FTC.gov to file your complaint. |
