The point of putting "In God We Trust" is to make a statement to who? To other countries? To fellow Americans? And then what? Other countries can then sit back and laugh and ridicule and take note at how much discord and disagreement exists amongst Americans? And Americans themselves can be divided and form hate and anger between groups? Putting "In God We Trust" does not unify us, it is already proving to divide us. If they inscribe "In God We Trust", then who is "We"? Half of America ONLY? While the other half has differing views and beliefs? Do you think "God" is going to love America more if those words are placed on a building?! Seriously, think about it! Do you think that "God" is happy that some of you are chastising and demeaning atheists and non believers? You didn't create those atheists. So who are you to judge? Believers in God believe that god made all humans, including atheists, so do you think your god is happy that you are fighting with his atheist children? Do you think "he" appreciates your words here? You should judge yourselves based on your religious beliefs before you go chastising fellow humans who happen to have differing beliefs than your religious views.

The religion I grew up with did not allow me to say "under God" or to wear a cross as it was considered a graven image. Should I be forced against my Christian upbringing to say Under God when reciting the pledge? I no longer believe in God, but I do believe that the Constitution protects all religions and it is in the best interest of our Nation to keep compulsory acts of religion (including the Pledge and "In God We Trust" ) out of our government.
