NY congressman admits affair, out-of-wedlock child

All I can say is WOW!!! This is BAD!!! Actually, this is right up their with idiot Eliot on the stupid a--hole chart. What was this man thinking????? He's done!! His political career is over and no self-respecting woman (and I understand his wife is one) will stand for this.

You're probably right that his political career is over. The problem for conservative republican politicians like Fossella is that they spend so much time preaching about morality and family values that when they get caught with their pants down they loose all credibility. That and the fact that most of their GOP buddies will quickly throw them under the bus to distance themselves from the scandal.

I'm pretty sure he's not the only one who's had an extra marital affair or fathered illegitimate children. But, at least he's not lying about it or denying his kid. He's educated and he has money, so even if they throw him out he'll land on his feet somewhere.

This public outing may turn out to be a good thing for him anyway. His marriage is clearly a sham, and there are many, many guys like him out there who stay in bad marriages just to maintain image and career. Now he can get a divorce and move on with his life.

It can't be! Is he really a Republican? Aren't they totally moral and without sin!? Shocking!!

Just another example of do as I say, not as I do. I'm so tired of these socially conservative blow hards who want everyone to behave with morality and have the nerve to negatively judge others for what they think is immoral. I no longer believe anything that comes out of their mouths and the religious right who back them.

Hmmm. Calls for Cong. Fossella to resign. Let's see, Teddy the swimmer Kennedy is still in Congress shooting his mouth off. Bill Clinton served all 8 years and is on the speaking circuit making millions. Even William Jefferson (D-LA) is still an active U.S. Rep.
