The concept that you can buy your way out of a stiff sentence is almost inconceivable to me. Then to read that our U.S. Senator writes letters on one's behalf if you engage enough money, appealing for leniency due to your philantropy is equally bizzarre. Perhaps one needs to examine the role of money in justice? Perhaps Mr. Lieberman should be more concerned about how to help CT residents by urging the rapid development and deployment of alternate means of heating homes. As winter approached, we who use heating oil in our homes will face severe decisions. That seems a serious issue to me, but Lieberman finds time to address the needs of a mobster. Price fixing, whether garbage rates or bank rates or future prices of oil should be dealt with most severely.

I do not feel sorry for this THUG at all. What a POS! Let's keep our eyes on his punk kid, too. He will be a great source of entertainment now that Dadums won't be around to hand on to his collar. This kid will be a loose cannon, I can just tell.

Funny, Galente is going to jail for the same thing that "Nasty" Nancy Botoxi Pelosi and Harry the" Hack Reid, those Democratic nabobs of congress, have been doing: Conspiring to keep the price of oil and gas high.

OK -- you don't like Democrats. I get that. But your claim that a political party in the USA can significantly move world oil prices is so outrageous, it makes both you, and the Republicans that you so ardently support, look like a bunch of idiots.

Here's a thought. Stop allowing people with Italian last names from working in the waste management industry and than there won't be any more problems! I mean, really, does anyone not know this very obvious connection?

I just can't wait for the day that a similar headline will feature the name of Eddie Perez being sent away to prison.

And lets stop all people with iez last names from working in manufacturing jobs since they seem to take the jobs away from everyone - try being a white man and get a job these days.

This guy was makign a few too many dollars without paying uncle same and got pinched. I am happy to know that my tax money went to putting away a guy who rand a successfull business how he saw fit and then donated much of the profits to charities. I am sooo happy this guy who has done no real crime except make a decent business is the focus of this state since he is paying taxes but just not enough, I would hate to see the state go after the drug dealers who take welfare and the people who are on welfare and drive $50,000 cars because then I might still have faith that this state isn't such a P.O.S state who gets pissed when someone they don't support gets rich without paying their dues to whoever in the state house to not get harassed. The guy raised prices with the help of a couple people from NY city, who cares he isn't a leech like the other people I mentioned he makes his own and earns his keep leave people like this who help the state alone and go after the welfare abusers and illegals who actually cost us money.

Is this a joke??? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Galante's crimes were numerous, and he clearly deserves what he got, and more. The sad thing is that he will one day be released. Hope he gets his fill in prison. I'm sure he'll make lots of nice new friends!

I agree with you there. Yes, rape, murder, etc. are extremely serious crimes. The Chesire murders were referenced in the article...yeah, that was serious and we're looking to fry the guys for it. However, that does not diminish the seriousness of the crime Galante committed. In a time when the little guy is forking over extra money for gas, food, electricity, etc.---like we need to get stiffed on trash collection fees. You don't get points for donating to a charity when you "stole" the money to donate to begin with. Leave it to Lieberman to support this POS.
