Oh for cripe sake, wtf, you know as well as anybody that both Obama and Clinton had a choice. They, too, could have enlisted in the military, both in war time and peace time. They didn't go either. I don't care if they were in college. College is not forever, and they could have served had they wanted to. You know this, but you are simply arguing for the sake of an argument. You just like to be PITA, so you keep it up.
However, I will hand you this. You're not as dumb as you pretend to be. I've seen you bring up certain issues. If only you would follow through, you might enter in an informative debate. So stop being a hard-nose, and give us your honest opinion and why you believe that way. Maybe then you wouldn't be flamed for everything you say.
Cheers!
I agree totally. I can respect a good debate. I can't stand the name calling such as moron, idiot, dumbass, uneducated, etc.

Goin' by memory on this, but I remember sitting in class and the High School Principal calling draft numbers for
Physicals over the intercom.
Plus I recall a lot of griping over some students from well to do families...numbers never seeming to get called.
Then on to college for them and on to Nam for everybody else!
Anybody recall a situation similar to that?

Why the miserable GOPers hate Bill Clinton.
William Jefferson Clinton was president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. The first president born after World War II, the first Democrat since FDR, to be elected to a second term as well as the first to lead in a post-cold-war world. Bill Clinton also became the first elected president to be impeached by an over zealous GOPer leadership, spending 6 years and $80 Million only to be acquitted by the Senate. But Bill Clinton is also likely to go down in history as the president who presided one of the greatest surges in prosperity and innovation in American history, and who helped make the transition from the standoff of the cold war to an era in which American influence was unchallenged. Bill Clinton sought to remake a once-broken Democratic party in a more centrist mold. Beyond balancing the budget for the first time in three decades and overhauling the welfare system, he passed the North American Free Trade Agreement and launched military strikes against Saddam Hussein and Slobodan Milosevic. Bill Clinton today is undoubtedly loved and thought after around the world as no other ex President ever has except maybe JFK!

You totally misunderstand. I don't hate Bill Clinton. Don't even dislike him. The only reason I even mentioned Bill Clinton was regarding a poster bashing Romney for not serving in the military. I just pointed out that neither Bill Clinton or Obama served in the military.

“Put A Girl In It”

co-written by singer
Rhett Akins...Dallas Davidson...Ben Hayslip

“Put A Girl In It”

You can buy you a brand new truck
Chrome it all out, jack it way up
You can build you a house up high on a hill
With a pool and a pond and a view to kill
You can make all the money in sight
But you aint livin the good life

Til you put a girl in it
You aint got nothin
What's it all worth
Without a little lovin
Put a girl in it
Some huggin and some kissin
If you're world's got somethin missin
Just put a girl in it

You can buy a boat and a shiny set of skis
Have some fun in the sun, float around in the breeze
You can lay out on a blanket by the lake
Drink a cold beer, polish off another day
Kick on back and watch the sky turn red
A sunset aint a sunset

Til you put a girl in it
You aint got nothin
What's it all worth
Without a little lovin
Put a girl in it
Some huggin and some kissin
If you're world's got somethin missin
Just put a girl in it

You can write you a country song
The DJ wont put it on
They wont dance or sing along

Til you put a girl in it
You aint got nothin
What's it all worth
Without a little lovin
Put a girl in it
Some huggin and some kissin
If you're world's got somethin missin
Just put a girl in it

If you're ridin in your truck
Put a girl in it

If you're gonna have a party
Put a girl in it

If you wanna live the good life
Better put a gir-r-rl in it
==========
The "core" of the 'most' "manly mans" happiness ...

WHY?

This "song" rings TRUE, doesn't iT?

It's "natural" ...
That is WHY.
The way God "planned" iT ...

WARS have been fought because of iT!
No?

Wow! tofy - never heard of anybody being called over a school intercom. But I do remember during Desert Storm, the kids all talking about it and many of them worried they would have to go.

Ya know, the very wealthy during the Civil War,(however) could pay for someone to replace their wealthy kid. Wasn't it called "conscription" or do I have the wrong word? Anyway, poor southern and some northern families would get offers from the wealthy to go to war in place of their sons. At this time so many were poor dirt farmers that they accepted. The bounty paid by the gov't, plus the extra money could help keep the family farm going while the boys were away. Many never came back, as you know, and one of our CW great-grandfather's served like this, but during the battle of Nashville, got dysentery and came home after he was discharged only to die a couple of years later, leaving three little kids. I digress, but there are all kinds of issues like this....not much has changed if you have the money to buy yourself out, me thinks.

I would bet that Clinton got away with a lot more than the public knows. One of the networks did finally run that story about Clinton raping some woman, biting her face and lips severely, but they carefully timed it to run after the election. The real Bill Clinton was a rapist and abuser of power, a liar and phony, and the only pain he ever felt was his own.

I admit that he governed as a centrist, stealing most of his ideas from a forward-thinking Republican agenda, but he didn't originate those centrist ideas. He stole them in typical Clinton fashion. Clinton's damage has been his leftist appointments to the judiciary.

If it had not been for the anomaly of Ross Perot, we would never have had to endure Clinton. Clinton's re-election occurred because of the power of incumbency, but even then, he did not get a majority of the popular vote.

In light of President Obama's comments at a White House press conference on Aug. 20, 2012, condemning rape and efforts at "qualifying forcible rape versus non-forcible rape," we the undersigned respectfully urge Pres. Obama to uphold his own standard of condemning sexual abuse of women by disinviting former Pres. Bill Clinton from the upcoming Democratic party convention. Mr. Clinton has a history of abusing women. He has been credibly accused of raping Juanita Broaddrick when he was Arkansas Attorney General, according to reports by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Clinton has been accused by numerous women of exposing himself and unwanted sexual touching when he was Governor and President. Mr. Clinton was disbarred for lying about his sexual assaults. He is unfit for the DNC.

No little Highschool child, FDR nor the new deal nor the WPA saved the US from the Great Depression! Hoover did not cause it, 8 years of Wilsons Progressive Democrats did! Hoover just got the blame! He had been in office less than a year when it happened! Some of FDR's programs helped a little but WWII got America out of the Great Depression, read your history book a bit more! Glad to see a young person that knows as much as you do, that is unusual. Proud of the fact you know who FDR and Hoover are! Good job, just look into it some more.

Procol Harum - Conquistador - live with Edmonton Symphony Orchestra

"Conquistador"

Lyrics to Conquistador :
(Brooker / Reid)

Conquistador your stallion stands
in need of company
and like some angel's haloed brow
you reek of purity
I see your armour-plated breast
has long since lost its sheen
and in your death mask face
there are no signs which can be seen
And though I hoped for something
to find
I could see no maze to unwind
Conquistador a vulture sits
upon your silver shield
and in your rusty scabbard now
the sand has taken seed
and though your jewel-encrusted blade
has not been plundered still
the sea has washed across your face
and taken of its fill
And though I hoped for something
to find
I could see no maze to unwind
Conquistador there is no time
I must pay my respect
and though I came to jeer at you
I leave now with regret
and as the gloom begins to fall
I see there is no, only all
and though you came with sword held high
you did not conquer, only die
And though I hoped for something
to find
I could see no maze to unwind

PROCOL HARUM
HSAS - A Whiter Shade Of Pale .(Vinyl 7' Single. Side A 1/2)...(Brooker / Reid)
http://www.youtube.com/watch...

"A Whiter Shade Of Pale

We skipped the light fandango
turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
but the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
as the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
the waiter brought a tray
And so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that her face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale
She said,'There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
and would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well've been closed
She said,'I'm home on shore leave,'
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the looking glass
and forced her to agree
saying,'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.'
But she smiled at me so sadly
that my anger straightway died
If music be the food of love
then laughter is its queen
and likewise if behind is in front
then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
and attacked the ocean bed

Huh? What happened to your rightwing cry of free markets? NAFTA being mostly good for the countries involved! And if American factory workers want to see where their jobs have gone, they'd do better to look east than south. Labor may be cheaper in Mexico, but it's cheaper still in Asia. Chinese workers make about a quarter of what their Mexican counterparts earn. In 2007, the U.S. trade deficit with China hit $256 billion. The deficit with Mexico, despite reaching an all-time high of $74 billion, was less than a third as big, and a lot of it was from buying Mexican oil. The U.S. trade deficit with Canada, which also has a lot of oil, was not far behind at $64 billion. When China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, Mexico lost much of any advantage that NAFTA gave it. Hundreds of Mexican factories have since closed and also moved to China.

The Herd of Independent Minds
By Victor Volsky

Just about any gregarious conservative can register the same complaint: his friends of a liberal persuasion firmly believe in evolution, the hydrocarbon menace, technogenic global warming, and the virtues of green energy; they are convinced that racism is still rampant in America, that all the ills of inner-city schools can be cured by throwing more money at them, that criminals are actually victims of society, that voter fraud is a myth concocted by evil conservatives, that cheating at the polls is a sacred right of minorities, that illegal immigrants have committed no crime even though the word "illegal" is self-explanatory, that George Bush attacked Iraq at the behest of Halliburton to grab Iraqi oil...

In short, it is always the same mantra, demonstrably stupid and illogical, yet fervently espoused by all ardent liberals, irrespective of their social status or educational attainments.

<quoted text>
Many things completed by the New Deal did work but many things didn't. Excise taxes were placed on goods predominantly purchased by middle and poor classes. This was the main funding source for the New Deal. It placed a greater burden on the backs of the poor in society which was the opposite of its intent. Federal tax rates went from 25% in 1931 to 79% in 1936 which deterred investments of any kind. Unemployment was at 24% in 1932 and gradually reduced to 15% by 1940, but was not brought down to single digits until World War II when many went to work for military contractors.
In addition, we are tired of hearing our current condition is due to Bush. Obama has increased the deficit at twice the rate of Bush and more Americans are unemployed and for longer periods than ever in history. The national debt is at an all time high of over $15 trillion which largely caused the downgrade in the U.S. debt rating.
Obama actually stated "after 3 years, if the economy isn't fixed, I should be a one-term president".
I will not lower myself to to call you stupid. ignorant, lazy or uneducated.
The New Deal worked! Plain and simple! No one is looking for a free ride but that's exactly what the super rich are getting. We would not have as big of a debt issue as we do now if it weren't for companies like GE getting 15 million in tax returns after not paying a cent in!

It's time for the freeloading rich to get off the backs of working class Americans.

I'll as you the same question as I've asked every other republican here, if tax breaks given to the super rich for job creation aren't creating jobs, why keep giving them? Stock Marlket keeps setting closing records and no big job growth. Time to cut the cord on the money train! The free ride is over!

And I won't call you names! You admit some things work, some don't. I'm not saying I agree with everything Semocrat, just most! Republican/Teabaggers I refer to would bot that way even if a homeless shelter was being burnt down, just because it's a republican idea.

Still stand by my statement, time for a New New Deal, and in his next term, I believe it will happen. No way Romey/Ryan can win. Polls are close now yes, but as the talk of no jobs, not paying the same taxes, millionaire, Ryan not caring about the working class.... It'll never happen!
