The religious left continues to push for open borders for illegal immigrants. We don't need preacher in politics and politicians in religion.

I hope that the country can be mature enough to come up with a solution that respects human dignity. We've heard enough from the hatemongers. Such cheap talk.

"A lot of people have this idea that immigrants are less than human or that we have fewer rights, and that's an injustice."

No idiota...we don't object to "immigrants" we only have a problem with "ILLEGAL immigrants" who have no respect for our laws.

Human dignity=go back to your country of origin and wait. That is a human showing enough dignity to follow the laws and do the right thing.

excerpt:

The Rev. Nino Gonzlez, head of Central Florida's largest Latino mega-church, Iglesia el Calvario just south of Orlando, is the newest high-profile member of the coalition to advocate for immigration reform. He joins Catholic Bishop Thomas Wenski and the Rev. Joel Hunter of Northland, A Church Distributed, who helped launch the advocacy effort last year as part of Christians for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, a Washington, D.C.-based group

none of these people are Christians Or Real Americans
just politicians and traitors...
any so called church harboring, hiring and helping criminals need to loose tax exempt status, have the doors shut and tried for treason.

A latino reverend, a catholic bishop and a misguided reverend. That explains it.

And let the immigrant bashing begin: they are evil, eat babies, they are illegal, they take our jobs, take our women, depress our wages, what else?
I think we should blame illegals about the second world war...
Sad sad creatures are those monsters who post on this forum. Please do all that at your KKK meetings...
"But they eat babies and want to take over, remember...you leftist open borders flaming liberal traitors who want to sell our country..."
I've heard it all, Billy Bob, I've heard it all...I have also heard that separate but equal was ok for decades. What does that tell you? That change has to come from above, since lay people have too much hatred to understand the problem. Oh, and slavery was also ok, remember.
Poor Billy Bob: don't you realize that a comprehensive immigration reform with path to citizenship is inevitable, a metter of when, not if...it's a new globalizing and competitive world and the ignorant ones will lose...now, Billy Bob, go watch some NASCAR, drink some MillerLight, and try not to beat up your wife...and if I am stereotyping, remember that bunch of your bretheren are trying to fly the largest confederate flag in Hillsborough County...nooo, Billy Bob is not racist, how could he be...he just doesn't like anybody who doesn't look and talk like him...
Ughhh.

Imigrate into this country leagaly and there would be no debate. The way my parents parents parents did a hundred or so years ago. Stop working for pathetic wages because if big buisness can, they will manipulate you. This brings down the wages for all other Americans. Illegal imigrants don't do the jobs no American's are willing to just not at poverty level wages. Lastly, this is not a religious debate. Anyone with common sense realizes the Latino and Hispanic communities are the fastest growing sector of the Catholic Church. The Church need not pander and should worry about it's own releveancey problems and pedophillia issues it has.

People who come to this country illegally are not respecting the laws of the land. How can they then expect the American government and its people to just roll over and just say " okay, well you're already here, just stay". It makes it unfair for other immigrants who go through the arduous task of paying the fees, waiting in the long lines and going about things legally. If my family had to do it legally, so should every other person who wants to come here.

Yes he did , but what about Peter 2:13?? Who is going to stand before jesus and tell him he was wrong, no one. I will stand before my fellow man and tell my fellow man he is wrong from breaking the law.

Could you save your sermons for Sunday? Don't try to write that I do not believe in God, as you'd be 100% incorrect. The laws of God are moral laws I do my best to follow. The laws of the government are also laws I do my best to follow. Within the government laws are many laws, not just trespassing and illegal immigration. People who break the government's laws are violators of same laws and must be held accountable for their actions. Legal vs Illegal. There's now gray area.

In 1965 at the urging of Jewish groups and led by Jewish Congressman Celler and this Gentile partner Kennedy, Congress passed the immigration act which eliminated quotas based on "national origin". Immigration laws have gone downhill since then.

And this has had economic consequences, too. By 1972 the per-capita income of working Americans began to fall consistently when adjusted for inflation. From 1972 to 1992 it had fallen by 20 percent.
