Senate panel passes tax bill, rare bipartisan unity

Aug 2, 2012 Full story: Reuters 15

Senate tax writers approved a $205 billion package of tax breaks in a rare show of bipartisan unity on Thursday, but across Capitol Hill in the House of Representatives, sniping over taxes between Democrats and Republicans was in full force.

Rare? meaning the clowns wanted to skip town. They get paid for their 5 weeks, took me 21 years to earn that amount of time off, but even then the job had priority.

We need to base their retention on performance, it is our only power. Not party, performance.

Don't vote for what they could have done, vote against what they didn't do.

The WH needs to keep the 'ugly' off his desk. The American people are rather sensitive at the moment, distractions have been losing their effectiveness.

Re: "Hours before leaving for a five-week break, the Senate Finance Committee passed legislation including a $15 billion business research tax break. It also contained a...$132 billion provision to prevent the alternative minimum tax, targeted at the rich..."

But, I thought that Harry Reid and Obama wanted to end "tax breaks for the rich." The $132 billion tax break called the "Alternative Minimum Tax," specifically targets the rich "One Percent" minority, which Reid and Obama profess to hate so much. Or, did Buffett promise a huge campaign contribution in exchange for Reid and Obama's support of the "tax breaks for the rich?"

The article, as usual, doesn't give the bill ID. The media wants you to know only what they tell you. The following is the only senate tax bill I found that was passed recently.

S. 3412 `Middle Class Tax Cut Act'.
7/25/2012 Passed/agreed to in Senate. Status: Passed Senate without amendment by Yea-Nay Vote. 51 - 48 link to bill text follows:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D... ::

Typical of federal legislation there is considerable 'striking' and 'inserting' so if you are not familiar with the existing statute it is not easy to determine the full impact of the change.(a way for your legislators to blur what they are doing)

What are the odds for this bill in the House?

I'm not sure what you mean .. if the ugly is this bill the chances are it will never get to his desk.

Is it to difficult to talk taxes ... bashing Obama is easy, but the bill, if by chance, it passes and is signed could save or cost you $.

Obama is such a putz. The clown has never had a real job before and it shows as he runs the country into the ground.

Too many RINO tea birthers in the house. That's why they lost the Senate. In November they'll lose the House.

There are BIPARTISAN CONGRESSIONAL Bills that Senator Majority Leader, Harry 'you're guilty until YOU prove your innocence' Reid, REFUSES to bring to the Senate floor to be discussed AND voted on.

NOt only does Mitt Romney have to battle the demoNcRats, Romney has to battle the slanted, biased media.

Our country IS in trouble.

Relate bills in the house are:
H.R.15, H.R.2710, H.R.6100, H.R.6104,

HR 6100 has a similiar title. All in committee where they will likely stay after Congress Returns.

Not much point in further talk on the subject.
