Good guys don't resort to torture

Full story: www.timesunion.com

It's impossible to have a public discussion of the Bush administration's decision to use torture on suspected terrorists without hearing a defense that relies on a comparison of inherent evil: "What the terrorists do is so much worse.

The liberal media is focusing too much on this and as a result the whole world will hate the USA more and will abuse every single American wherever they go because now they think that all Americans love to torture. What about the good things that the military people have done for the Iraqis, etc.?

This type of news just places the military people overseas in danger of being abused by their captors. All this news is a vendetta against Bush and his administration and nothing else. This type of hype just puts a lot of the military people at risk because now the whole world thinks every military personnel is an abuser.

Obama has the power to do what he wants now with Congress. What is the purpose of digging this up? What does Obama or Holder want to happen? They want ALL the people who were adamantly protecting the Americans living in the US soil to go to jail. Is this what he wants????

In my opinion, these should have just been kept as classified information and Obama/Congress should have changed the rules. END OF STORY. The people that did this acted in the interest of protecting the American people in the USA. They did not do this because they loved to torture. If there was a law broken and a true abuse outside of the normal rules that were set, then investigate this on a case by case basis. If only 2 waterboarding were only allowed per person and 100 were done, sure this is a violation and needs to be investigated on a case by case basis. The way this was handled was so haphazard that it ruined the reputation of the USA.

In my opinion, the reputation of the USA just went down the drain because of exposing classified information without thinking through the repercussions.

american men
Submitted by daveinga on Mon, 2009-04-27 02:01.
in general, have become so feminine, our forefathers would not
recognise them. women run them, like a car, or a dishwasher.
when he doesn't suit her anymore, trade him in. get a new one.
doesn't take her long at all.
doesn't cost HER a dime. men pay for everything in a divorce.
and the new guy might have some $$$$!!!
especially if she is a looker. she knows this up front. he will
figure it out somewhere over a drink some days/weeks/months later.

now you will hear all sorts of men saying they don't "serve" women.

prove it. but they can't, and here are some examples of what i mean.

1. she can take a lover any time she wants (or several), and you can't.
and you really can't stop her.
oh you can file for divorce, but be prepared to lose EVERYTHING
you value in this world. adultery is only a tool for women to use
in a divorce. look at Mel Gibson. do you really think if she was
the one fooling around he would benefit financially? yeah, right.
let her catch you fooling around and see how that goes in court.
"he destroyed our family your honor" (flashes some leg).

2. and once she splits (kicks you out of your own home typically)
w/ "her" kids, and you have pissed her off by catching her, or whatever,
it doesn't take much, you will be lucky to even see "her" kids again.
i speak about this one from experience. she owns sole
control of the most important/valuable people in your life, and she full well knows it.
remember this, today (during divorce) she probably hates you, and this is the BEST
she will EVER feel towards you.

3. and what if these are not your kids? she can take them, invite
her real lover over, and you will most likely pay the bills, for many years to come.
that's gotta hurt. there was a guy in texas this happened to, and he got
slammed all the way to a supreme court, where the cowards refused to hear his plea.
all three little boys were somebody elses. and he STILL pays.

4. if things are not looking good for her because maybe she does drugs,
or has some serious mental problems, all she has to do is claim you hit her,
abused her/kids, or God forbid, claim you molested the children.
by the time your prison nightmare is over (if it EVER is)
you will be little more than a faint memory to "HER" kids.
the lawyers will see that you have no $$ left to try to see them again.
and even if it was proven she lied to gain advantage, NOTHING will
happen to her. this site sees that all the time. hell, she will
probably get $$ for free via v.a.w.a. for doing it. and free lawyers.
if there are kids, you will probably pay her lawyers anyway.
there is no end to your bills. CS, alimony, palimony, etc.
you must support this princess "in the manner to which she has become accustomed",
thanks to you. the very wording sounds like something out of a
story about princesses, kings and queens. in america.

these are just a few of the many many ways the system is stacked against men.
men let it happen. they turned their feminine cheeks and bent over
when told, listened to women as they shamed men who spoke up.
the courts dropped the ball, for the $$$$. justice is anything BUT blind.
and every day that americans don't get
joint absolute custody of the children in divorce, is just another day
the feminized men lose even more ground, if that's possible.

in summary, women act like they do, and treat men like they do,
because they can. they know every bit of this stuff above and the many
more ways to screw you over, when they are standing
up there swearing before God to love, honor, whatever.
and men are NOT waking up to these potential disasters. yes dear?

What is obvious is that if the tables had been turned, this 7th-century savage KSM would have been chopping our heads off while making a video of it.

Irresponsible grandstanding on the left is to be ignored, these people don’t know -or don’t want to know- what it takes to keep America safe... nor do they understand the nature of the enemy, apparently.

And waterboarding is not a near-drowning technique- the subject is never in danger of drowning. Water boarding is not torture- there is no physical harm to the subject.

Kahlid Sheikh Mohammed is a BAD guy, wouldn’t talk, and was taunting US interrogators with “you’ll see”… so they obtained valuable info from him using this technique, which we now find-out prevented a 9/11-scale attack on Los Angeles.

Who cares how many times it took?

It was up to him how long before he decided to cooperate, didn’t have to be this way- looks like he clung stubbornly to a bad decision.

This shameful political stunt will be regretted by the Democrats for YEARS to come- Obama really kicked an ant-hill when he opened the door on this... it's going to come back to bite him and his lying, cowardly allies like Pelosi BIG time.

It's a war crime and is punishable. Bush didn't serve in the military (someone show me his record) and is to big a coward to admit he was a failure as president.
republicans are cowards who forgot who ruined this country and tried to outlaw the constitution.
Bush, and those anti-americans who voted for him (remember, his brother told the florida courts to find Bush the winner or be fired like a hipanic lawyer) stole the first election.
He was re-elected when democrats stayed home to see if Queen George could screw it up even more, cause we knew the republican party rigged the election. Remember, Bush's second term was won by the smallest vote ever.

What on earth makes americans think they are the good guys?

The USA is a terrorist nation of the first order...do a body count.

Start with our daily attacks by Predator drones in Pakistan and work your way backwards.

Count the cities and countrys we have attacked and bombed....stop in 1950 and take a breather, then keep going. GOOD GUYS...LMAO

Everyone resorts to torture. It's much like anything else. Get the stakes high enough and we all will do things we thought we wouldn't.

Anyone who claims otherwise is either lying or sheltered.

So you don't have anything against torture as long as it doesn't make the USA look bad?

Don't you think it is perhaps that attitude that is to blame for you being hated throughout the world rather than what CNN broadcasts?

Lets face it, Bin Laden won. He turned your nation into a crazy hate filled theocracy and destroyed all your morals just like he intended.

The funny thing is he did it sitting in a cave with his feet up while lots of really stupid americans scutteled about doing his bidding. These Americans actually thought they were fighting against him, the stupidity is mind boggling.

And what would you say would be the alternative? How about some ideas for the "evil" Republicans? Bet you don't have any. You just like to complain about anything done while a President is a conservative.

Get real indeed. Torture may have been used in some instances during those wars, but not as OFFICIAL POLICY SANCTIONED BY THE GOVERNMENT. We have prosecuted countries that tortured our POW's in the past. Good for the goose, good for the gander???

How the hell do you know? I will lay odds that there was a hell of lot worse going on then! How do you know there wasn't policy? Get a grip pm the reality. Like freaking waterboarding was invented in the last 6-7 years. Nice try though! Roll eyes.
