The state's high court upheld yesterday a decision to deny a driver's license to a Maryland resident whose permit in New Jersey was suspended because he had forged citizenship documents.

Am I the only one that finds it nothing short of preposterous that the ability of someone who had FORGED DOCUMENTS in the past to get a license in Maryland was even an issue to be brought before a court?!?!? Whatever happened to common sense?

I agree, but common sense? We're talking about Maryland where they have no problem issuing lincenses to illegal aliens.

""Since the laws in Maryland are our governing laws, we should follow those laws and not those of another state," said Eliza Leighton, director of strategic initiatives for CASA of Maryland. The advocacy group filed a brief supporting the plaintiff."

Gee, isn't it wonderful that we have organizations like CASA who could care less about this country & it's citizens? Their entire agenda is to empower illegal aliens
Groups like CASA should be charged with aiding & abetting illegal aliens
Oh, & how much do you want to bet taxpayer dollars are given to CASA?

You mean someone even remotely connected to the government of a state or the US Gov't. has the kahones to say no to a blatantly illegal act by an illegal alien?

UNTHINKABLE!!! In this day of political correctness and let the criminals have and do whatever they want, this is unbelievable.

Now you must be ready for the fallout though. La Raza, the President of Mexico and the other race mongers will be calling this racial animis, bigotry, hatred, blah blah blah.

You realize that since we have been invaded by up to 20 million ILLEGAL Mexicans that our laws should no longer be enforced.

Better yet, let's be just like Mexico! Then maybe they will all go back since this is what they are running away from in the first place!

Amazing isn't it?

An elected official finally doing what he was elected to do. That would be representing the people who elected him.

The vast majority of American citizens and legal immigrants want these ILLEGAL ALIENS out of OUR country.

Americans also do not want their the ILLEGAL ALIENS blatant disregard of our laws rewarded with amnesty.

Let them apply and come here legally.

Lying on documents submitted to government agencies should also bring about criminal charges. Doesn't matter if it is an American Citizen, LEGAL immigrant, or illegal alien.

The public consensus has been in for quite some time, 75-85% of the general population consistently voice frustration and anger in regard to illegal aliens and employers flaunting the law and various government agencies enabling it.

The lie I like best is the one claiming that because immigration is a federal function, states should have no jurisdiction. To that I ask, should the metro and staties roll over every time a bank is robbed and just leave it for the FBI? Where are the lawsuits defending bank robbers arrested by NON FEDERAL authorities?

"has the kahones to say no"

I realize you probably hate Spanish as a language, but why even use the word if you can't come close to spelling it right?

FTA: Unlike Maryland, New Jersey requires applicants to prove they are American citizens before licensing.
Isn't amazing, that even after a few of the 9/11 hijackers spent a few nights in Laurel, MD, the Demowits still allow illegals to obtain a motor/voter license in this state.
Right now the "Boy Governor" is trying to create a work around the Real ID laws that just came into law!

Illegals don't warrant anything in this country except permanent expulsion. CASA's got it all wrong, Maryland is following its law. Why change the rules for an alien, and not for anyone else? Mr. Alavez is an ILLEGAL ALIEN who deserves to be expelled forthwith, get over it.

Okey Mr. Moo the other writer should have spelled cojones right but it does not matter, what matters is the sentiment behind it. People especially the democrats do not realize that if we have another amensty we are going to absorb between 30 to 40 million more people that do not care one bit for our country, and by the way who do you think are bringing all those drugs from Mexico into our country. duh.

We left Maryland in 2006 for Arizona. The State of Arizona would not accept our Maryland drivers licenses as legal ID because they know that MD ID's are worthless: MD won't check citizenship. That was a hassle, and it is impossible for us to get 2nd jobs because of all the "undocumented workers" here, but at least Arizona tries to get rid of the illegals.

As a future judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland I understand the full effect of their decision. As a matter of law, Judge Wilner's majority opinion is absolutely correct and without error. Under Maryland law found in Transportation article Section 16-103.1 , an individual is prohibited from obtaining a driver's license here when one's license is under suspension or is revoked in another state. That rule also applies if the suspension or revocation is permenant in the other state. Understand me correctly however, I support the ability of illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses to be able to get back and forth to work so that they actually do contribute positively to our society. My support of illegals notwithstanding however, the Court of Appeals of Maryland is right in its decision for the sole fact that it merely upheld a portion of Maryland's transportation article against a challenge by an individual who wishes to change the statute by way of case law, instead legislative initiation.

The Juarez letter has to be a joke. Any judge supporting illegal activity needs to be removed from the bench. In this case they shouldn't even get there.
