And that statement would make you what ---- an obnoxious, yellow-dog moron???
I am in your stereotypical category -- and I don't need anyone telling me I'm an idiot for voting republican. No capitol R.
Thanks for making me more determined.

Why havn't you heard of her? I have been following her career since I first heard of her 6 months ago. This is a woman of convictions. Don't believe what any party tells you about her. Find out for yourself. Do the research. As for the professor-I think I know who is condescending. You seem to imply she is unqualified because she is a woman and you haven't heard of her. Perhaps you should get out more often. Ivory towers can be so confining.

there are people with little understanding of facts that will hurl insults as a first reponse. keep up your determination!!

electing a Republican President will not make much difference if he is stymied by members of the opposite party. if you believe strongly in conservative issues that you should be just as supportive of the state and local politicians.

they need more than JUST words of encouragement. they need financial support as well as you feet on the pavement helping them.

start with your local candidate for Congress since he is the obvious underdog. prove the previous commentor, who apparently believes that the little man should be dependent upon the government, wrong.

I lived in Alaska for several years and was there when Palin took office. She is currently being investigated for corruption so I am not sure why people think she has cleaned the place up. I suppose they just don't know so much about her like most people.

Go Sarah Go! If MaCain doesn't do anything else right, this was a good move. A 44 year old woman with 5 children, the youngest recently born with downs syndrome, the oldest, a soldier soon heading for Iraq plus she is a life time member of the NRA, a hunter(she kills and dresses out her own kills), a fisherwoman and she trys to keep the big boys in government on their honest toes if they have any. I would bet she keeps the "good old boys" frustated as hell and stands by her man and bakes cookies in her spare time. As a male senior citizen and a combat veteran, I welcome anyone that is seemingly honest and with a backbone even if it is a lady. Only a woman could handle the above load and more. Men would crumble! This is great and I pray it works out for all of us.

A QUESTION FOR LIBERALS

IF, you are TRULY concerned about Sarah Palin's "lack of experience"
because she is only a ONE-TERM GOVERNOR,

does this mean you will be voting for McCain, who has way more experience
than ONE-TERM SENATOR Obama ???

If not, please explain your hypocrisy

I have never in my life voted for a Republican, but I will be this November.

Obama puts himself first before the country
And that spectacle of his acceptance speech last night with the columns and lights
in the dead of night eeriely reminded me way too much of Adolf Hitler at the Reichstag.
The rah, rahs, could have easily been Seig Heil, Seig Heil

It was disgusting, I may never vote democrat again

You just can't make this stuff up. Barack goes out and picks a lying Washington insider that has no redeeming attributes no speak of. The ACT prints 3 articles about how the NC Democrat party and the NC delegates love the choice and support it.

A Republican nominates a well spoken, well educated person that has experience working in the executive branch and the ACT cherry pick a few negative comments to throw a wet blanket on a possitive day for the Republicans.

ACT is a left wing liberal mouth piece that doesn't know or print the truth even if it is plastered on a billboard for all to read. Long live the anti American socialist media and their contempt for all of you liberals that they think are too stupid to think for yourselves or make decisions based on complete information.

I love the pick. Mother of 5 fights the corrupt folks in her OWN PARTY, wins, takes on the corrupt incumbent Governor, wins then takes on the OIL companies, wins. Son going to Iraq lives her convictions. Best political move I have ever seen. Brilliant. The Left is scared that is why you see ACT printing slanted stories.

Governor Palin was an excellent choice and has already energized skeptical conservatives for the McCain campaign -- including me. How many people yesterday were talking about Obama's speech the other night? Not that there was anything of substance to talk about.

Accusations about Palin's inexperience are a nervous reaction by a very panic-stricken Obama campaign. Unlike their choice for commander in chief, VP candidate Sarah Palin has more executive experience in local and state government than Obama's spin doctors can invent for their guy. And, to those who want to dismiss Alaska as an insignificant state, keep in mind that Alaska sits on a goldmine of natural resources and is strategically located at the crossroads of North America and the Russian section of Asia. Indeed, Alaska is just as significant, if not more so, than Arkansas.

Palin has vetoed hundreds of irresponsible spending bills in Alaska and not only exposed -- but squashed -- corruption there within her own party. Doing so has made her a lot of enemies but grassroots Americans are looking for new blood who will confront corruption and look out for our taxpayer dollars. We don't want someone who will get into office, ignore the American people, and pander to special interests, especially the hatemongers at moveon.org , Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

Governor Palin is a church-going Lutheran; a NRA member who believes in the second amendment; she hunts and fishes; she understands realistic energy policy; she supports drilling in Anwar; she's married and has five children including a son in the military and a new baby with Down's syndrome (who she never thought about aborting). Long story short, Palin is an all-American girl who most of us would love to have as our next door neighbor. Can't say the same about an elitist snob who hangs out with Weather Underground terrorists and anti-American, racist preachers.

The feminists and their allies in the media expect us to believe that the so-called "woman vote" requires a feminist candidate with uncompromising pro-abortion views like Hillary Clinton. That false stereotype is about to be shattered. Most women in this country are not radical feminists who think fatherhood is irrelevant and killing unborn children is a Constitutional right. And, I can tell you that by choosing Palin, the McCain camp has suddenly gotten a lot of re-energized support from men who see Palin as potentially the next Margaret Thatcher or Golda Mier.

Go Governor Palin!

We now have 4 decent people in the race. Wow! A few are clearly inexperienced, but at least we can look up to them as people. I definitely prefer a leader that needs to develop and refine policy versus character.

And what a nice and profound possibility that the first woman VP of our nation carries the name Sarah. Beautiful.

Well said!

I was not even interested in this election yesterday, was a bit put down when I heard his pick and didn't even know who she was. But when I got to know who she is and what she stands for boy howdy I'm excited.

John McCain started running for president three weeks before Sarah Palin was sworn in as governor.

http://www.openleft.com/showDiary.do...

John McCain first met Sarah Palin only six months ago and had just one conversation with the Alaska governor before offering her the vice presidential slot on the Republican ticket, the Arizona senator's campaign said Friday.

Just not sure how this pick came about really...

cute little phrase, think of that yourself or copy it from Dem. message board.

please explain yourself as to WHY you think it is the worst pick ever and maybe someone other than fellow liberals MIGHT listen to you.

just your unqualified assessment does not make it the worst pick ever.

You can always tell a Republican,
but you can't tell them much.
It is the Party of Fear.
Whatever happen to fiscal responsible Republicans?
I know how many houses I have and I know that the ceiling of middle class is not $5,000,000.00.
I also know what the difference between a surplus budget and a deficit budget.
Let us concentrate on the economy only-ARE YOU BETTER OFF THAN EIGHT YEARS AGO? Male Female,Black or White, Democrat or Republican;forget the campaign rhetoric and concentare on the facts. Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it. Can we afford the failed policy of the past eight years with four more of the same? How far in debt must this country go for bad judgement?I worry for my grandchildren, not about abortion, gay marriage or who wears a flag in their lapel. I worry that social hot potato issues are more important to some than sound financial planning and opeeration of our Government.
Vote out of knowledge and not fear. Do your homework. We need change, not four more years of Rove, Cheney and Bush.Look in your wallet, your bank account, your gas tank and your heart. Be objective and not reactive.
