I don't think most of those are part of the official platform. In fact, they seem to preach about de-regulation of the oil industry (and all others!) as a *solution* rather than investing in greener, alternative energies. Maybe it's just the reichtards here defying the GOP platform. Gosh, I know how independent these posters can be...
I'm just going by what they state in their own platform.

I agree, I'm the same way. I watch, read, and pick the lesser of 2 evils.
It also comes down to who will get backing within Congress. If they are against you, you are doomed to be a President who gets nothing done.
Yes ppl need to stop depending on all of these slanted
news forums and look at the real news...both sides.

If you don't read both sides of a situation you only get
to see one point of view.

The same way ppl should read both sides of history.

The federal government rakes in billions of dollars annually from the oil industry. If you think anyone in the federal government, on EITHER side of the aisle, is going to do anything to end that gravy train, then you are a bigger fool than I've been giving you credit for.

Oh, you read the cereal box. Ok. IDK where all this Foxnews crap comes from! And the people here! The website clears it all up rather succinctly. I wonder if the DNC has one that's similar?

A big problem is that there aren't many books (especially school texts) that give a lot of 'other sides'.
Example: US History- you hardly can find anything about the Native American or African American point of view.

Very little about the woman's point of view either.

No they don't.
But you know the old saying: Winners write the history.

I had to go out on my own and read everyone's version
of what had happened to get a clear picture. Like Vietnam.
My dad served and never spoke of it....however it impacted
every aspect of his life.
So as soon as I went through everything this country had
to offer I read it from their point of view. Talk about
an eye opener.

Yes it still is.
Women still make less money dollar for dollar than men do.
Women do what is called the second shift at home when they get home from their job.
Stay at home moms are seen as lazy bonbon eating TV watching free loaders till a man stays home from work and tries to take care of the kids and get the housework done......

When I was still working I would pull a 13 hr shift
(nights) at the state prison then come home and cook,
clean, help the kids w/homework....go straight from work
to school for meetings.
When I went off work and started just raising the kids
I thought it would be easier but.....I was Wrong! lol

Then I make it harder w/all of the animals.

Being a housewife is the hardest job. And I have hard
jobs to compare it to.

I have know a few Vietnam Veterans and only one would talk about it a little. It must have been so terrible to see women and children and your good friend(s) get killed, then come home and get treated so bad. And, know you lost.
There probably aren't many records about records of how the Vietnamese felt, in English anyway.

Dad has been that way all of his life.
He recently starting accepting help from the VA and
it has helped a lot.
I do know, from my mom, that his Thing against Christmas
has something to do w/ a bombing of a town that happened
during the holidays.
It is easier to understand him when you know little
things like that.

Even more bizarre. The Pope not wanting condoms being brought up in his teachings to Africa where the spread of aids is rampant and there are literally more children running around homeless than adults. That's a third world country that's systemstically being kept in the dark. He has the power to do good will there and he refuses.
Even more bizarre is a person who writes about the Pope when the forum is talking about fake polls.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Libra

Be very careful when handling financial matters today because not everything is as straightforward as it seems. For instance, someone may tell you about a fail-safe way of making money but neglect to mention all the reasons why it's totally illegal. There could also be mistakes if you're spending money, such as being short-changed or overcharged. So watch out!
