The planet has been here for billions of years and will be here long after any of the above mentioned bafoons will be.

Well NOW they want an honest discussion about global warming! What ever happened to Al Gore saying that "THE DISCUSSION IS OVER"! I'm looking forward to it!

Even if the earth is warming, there are far more benefits to having a warmer earth than a colder one. Our air has never been cleaner and our earth has always gone through warming and cooling cycles. To think that we can control our earth's climate is foolishness. I studied climatology in college and I can tell you that those who think we can control our environment don't have a clue what they're talking about.

THE world’s leading climate change body has been accused of losing credibility after a damning report into its research practices.

A high-level inquiry into the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found there was “little evidence” for its claims about global warming.

It also said the panel had emphasised the negative impacts of climate change and made “substantive findings” based on little proof.

The review by the InterAcademy Council (IAC) was launched after the IPCC’s hugely embarrassing 2007 benchmark climate change report, which contained exaggerated and false claims that Himalayan glaciers could melt by 2035.

The panel was forced to admit its key claim in support of global warming was lifted from a 1999 magazine article. The report was based on an interview with a little-known Indian scientist who has since said his views were “speculation” and not backed by research.

Independent climate scientist Peter Taylor said last night:“The IPCC’s credibility has been deeply dented and something has to be done. It can’t just be a matter of adjusting the practices. They have got to look at what are the consequences of having got it wrong in terms of what the public think is going on. Admitting that it needs to reform means something has gone wrong and they really do need to look at the science.”

(Climate change) sceptic David Holland, who challenged leading climate change scientists at the University of East Anglia to disclose their research, said:“The panel is definitely not fit for purpose. What the IAC has said is substantial changes need to be made.”

The bishops of (man-made) climate change will not be impressed. The accusing group is obviously not "peer" reviewed. Never mind that the approved peer review publications are all on-board with worshiping the religion of AGW. Since there can be no disapproval of the official religion, I’m afraid this is not going to sway the parishioners.

Don't want to be investigated? Why not? Oh. I know I know! Seems to me we have two extreme viewpoints here and as with most issues in life, the extremes are usually wrong. Global warming IS happening. The science is really pretty basic and provable. Where I differ from the global warming scientists is #1, what the effects will be? and #2, even if we have effects, what can be realistically done about them?

For #1 yes, the earth is warming. That doesn't necessarily mean bad things happen. The environent is in flux all the time, adapt to it.

For #2 While long term we will be migrating to solar panels and other "green" technologies, they will take time. And secondly, many of these "green" technologies are not really so green. Making solar panels takes energy, usually in the form of oil not to mention poisonous by products. There is no green solution other than moving to a cave with no running water and electricity. And were not about to do that.

Climate change certainly is happening...just as it has for millenia. The kinds of lightbulbs we use and vehicles we drive have zero affect on it.
