While Rome Burned...They Talked About Lipstick

On Tuesday, as McCain campaign surrogates were dispatched far and wide to ensure railroad coverage of the contrived "lipstick" controversy, Barack Obama responded not with a harder counterpunch or attack ad, but a call for the country to keep its focus on...actual issues.

"You know who ends up losing at the end of the day?" Obama said about the latest dust-ups during a stop in Virginia. "It's not the Democratic candidate, it's not the Republican candidate. It's you, the American people, because then we go another year or another four years or another eight years without addressing the issues that matter to you. Enough."

When the Republican party gets tired of making Bush a democrat and accepts responsibility for Republican ineptitude and corruption, and when we get to talking about real issues instead of typical Rovian bullshit lies and email distortions - McCain and Palin are eliminated as viable candidates and the American public won't be so gullible as to believe the only ones who can fix the mess the Republicans made are Republicans. Republicans have never been able to fix their messes - fact. Question is - do you want four more of what will be catastophic messes - or do you want to start fixing the mess?

If the ersatz messiah had any class he would have selected his words better; it clearly shows his lack of experience.
During the convention Sarah Palin used the word lipstick as a it applies to strong women and the goofy messiah comes along and whether directly or indirectly uses the words, "lipstick on a pig." The messiah's laughing audience took it to apply to Sarah Palin including the two mealy mouth slanderous gutless wonders above but they enjoyed it the most, obviously.
After the fact, the arrogant messiah realized his blunder and trying not to look like a moron stooped to spin his mistake by using the word "Swiftboating" to describe those complaining. The problem for the messiah is "Swiftboat" describes many veterans who spoke out about John Kerry and they spoke the truth.
Therefore the ersatz messiah sinks even further in the polls at the cost of satisfying his spoon-fed disciples with cheap-shots. It's the same pack of lowlifes who last week found fulfillment in beating up on a pregnant teenager and her baby brother with Down's Syndrome.

Nice language - so typical of the Obamabots that prevail on these threads.
If Obama wants to make an issue out of the lipstick (Pigs) let him, it shows most of us what kind of person he really is.

Attention you pathetic slanderous bag of democRat manure...you and your ilk have no podium to criticize President GW Bush...

Let’s see what some disgruntled self-serving dirty diaper democRat saboteurs think of the efforts and sacrifice of those serving in The United States Military…

• Democrat John Kerry, Feb. 2007: "The simple fact is that sending in over 20,000 additional troops isn't the answer--in fact, it's a tragic mistake. It won't end the violence; it won't provide security; ...it won't turn back the clock and avoid the civil war that is already underway; it won't deter terrorists, who have a completely different agenda; it won't rein in the militias."
• Democrat Dennis Kucinich, Feb. 2007: "It has been proven time and time again that troop surges don't work."
• Democrat Harry Reid, Apr. 2007: "The war is lost... This surge is not accomplishing anything."
• Democrat Christopher Dodd, Apr. 2007: "We don't need a surge of troops in Iraq... there is no military solution in Iraq. To insist upon a surge is wrong."
• Democrat Barack Obama, Jul. 2007: "My assessment is that the surge has not worked."
• Democrat Dick Durbin, Aug. 2007: "By carefully manipulating the statistics, the Bush-Petraeus report will try to persuade us that violence in Iraq is decreasing and thus the surge is working. Even if the figures were right, the conclusion is wrong."
• Democrat Jan Schakowsky, Aug. 2007: "I believe overall the surge is a failure....It’s clear to me we cannot win..."
• Democrat Joe Biden, Sep. 2007: "We should stop the surge and start bringing our troops home...[When asked whether Iraq closer to political reconciliation than before the surge began, and would continuing the operation stop the killing between Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds?]...The answer to both those questions is no."
• Democrat John Kerry, Sep. 2007: ""The president's escalation ... has failed to achieve its goal of bringing about a resolution of the fundamental conflict between Sunni and Shi'ite."
• Democrat Chris Dodd, Sep. 2007: "It pains me to say that ... the surge tactic is a failure — and that failure is reconfirmed everyday by unfolding events in Iraq."
• Democrat Barack Obama, Oct. 2007: "[The surge is a] complete failure... Iraq’s leaders are not reconciling. They are not achieving political benchmarks."
• Democrat Harry Reid, Nov. 2007: "It is indisputable that the goals of the surge have failed."
• Democrat Joe Biden, Nov. 2007: "This whole notion that the surge is working is fantasy."
• Democrat Nancy Pelosi, Feb. 2008: "There haven't been gains [in Iraq]... The gains have not produced the desired effect, which is the reconciliation of Iraq. This is a failure. This is a failure."
• Democrat Carl Levin, Apr. 2008: "...the purpose of the surge as announced by President Bush last year... has not been achieved"
• Democrat Joe Biden, Apr. 2008: "The purpose of the surge was to bring violence in Iraq down so that its leaders could come together politically. Violence has come down, but the Iraqis have not come together... We Democrats understand that this war must end..."
• Democrat Bill Richardson, Jun. 2008: "[when asked if he was ready to concede that John McCain had been right in proposing the surge, said] "Absolutely not."

Poor babies can't take what you dish out. We are so sorry. You are the ones choosing the gutter from the start and continue to do so. Issues? I guess when you have nothing to say on issues you take the path of hate. Good luck and if the shoe fits.

Are you a double secret McCain operative or just a dunderhead Obama bot? Which ever, voters are dodging your spewing venom by stepping over to the Palin camp.

Hold it there skippy. Lets make sure we get the record straight. The governor of louisiana and mayor of NO are 85% to blame for the debacle. They didn't evacuate. The fed is prohibited by statute, Posse Comitatus, from entering without local government request. Look up Posse Comitatus before you launch ridiculous charges that are unfounded.

Excuse me the surge hasn't worked. we are still there dying and getting wounded while the real enemy is getting ready in Pakistan and Afghanistan to do the world another number. You ignorance is astounding - really it is. Too bad you can't put all that energy to constructive use instead of hate, anger, and ignorance. Would be a good person. Oh well. I guess we have all learned how to put up with you with your head up your ass all the time. I guess you have blamed us for being diverse and liberal enough to put up with the constant smell of your Republican bullshit and lies. Maybe we shouldn't.

So...BO is now wanting to "get to the issues"

Where was the candidate's restraint when comparing his resume (I'm running this campaign) to that of the governor? He didn't seem to mind stepping away from the issues, did he? He's a candidate for president, yet is so intimidated by his counterpart's record, he has to go after the VP. Just a tad of hypocrisy, wouldn't you say?

And speaking of his being in charge...hmmmm...we've got Biden admitting Hillary would have been a better choice and the nutter down in NC imploding, taking away any hint of issue based claim BO's campaign may have had. Now that's management!

Way to go, CEO Obama.
