Obama: Steer clear of Palin's daughter

Barack Obama, questioned about the pregnancy of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's unwed teenage daughter, said outsiders should steer clear of that subject.

I totally agree with the Senator! Presidential candidate Obama should continue rolling out his plan to the American public. We want to make educated decisions on the issues as to how he or McCain plans to run the U.S., not on how or when Palin explained the facts of life to her children.

The Senator once again shows his class and spirit -- not just a Democrat, but a true American.

I agree with Barack Obama. We need to leave the personal issues personal, and the family problems in the family.

We have important and serious issues to face as a nation.

Sarah Palin and John McCain want to continue the policies of George W. Bush, policies that have brought us to the brink of a recession, into war without end, into a laughing stock in the world at large, and cost us our civil rights.

I want change, and most Americans do too. We can't afford another 4 years like the last 8. We have had ENOUGH! We can do better than this.

Obama/Biden,'08! Yes, we can!

The kids of these candidates should be off limits. Give them some privacy and respect.
And thank you, Sarah, for going thru all this crap just to serve your country

Doesn't Obama know that the Republicans wouldn't be nice to his family? Why be nice the theirs? Smears work, that's who republicans have stayed in power for so long.

While I think that it's honorable and all to not say it, it will only hurt you in the long run (especially since she lied about her 5th child, yet is still playing the 'family values' ticket). Honor is just something to slow you down. A man of honor doesn't shoot someone in the back, but that only leaves a hole open for the man without it.

Oh yeah, he's full of class. Like not pledging allegience to flag? Real class. Real patriotism. Real love of this country.

He just wants to keep family out of it because he's hiding his whitey relatives and his big mouth wife. He wants ground rules to keep the media from going there with his family. It's not class, it's self preservation on his part.

Does it physically hurt to be mentally challenged? Do tell.

Everybody catch that "whitey relatives" in the midst of that post? The 'elephant in the room' in this election is going to be all those closet racists, with their code words for hatred.

It's okay that the republicans would not have been so nice if this story were about one of obama's adorable and intelligent daughters. The media and political operatives will dig deep into this and all other skeletons in palin's, closet, so obama doesn't have to personally get his hands dirty with palin filth.

Obama, is totally right. None of the Candidates should have an opinion on family issues ongoing amoung the opposition.

That being said. This is UNBelivable........

The Republicans just loss the Christian Groups....

How are you going to , as a message in your campaign, asert personal responsibility and Family Values as a staple, when your responsibility of rearing your children is jeopardize by your daughters inability to keep her legs secure.

I won't suprise me to find a post of the daughter on you tube doing provacative dances.

These are some of the Republicans conflicting points of view.

This is the Republican judgement you would trust negotating America's foreign policy against some of the Brightest minds in the world. Good lord, we are talking about a d plus student. If this is indication of the judgement he's bringing into the White House after 8 years of George Bush, America is DOOMED should he win.

Of course the republicans are going to love this 'applaud him'. Then they go back to making fun of his wife and daughters and estranged relatives he's never met and is only barely related to.

But what do you expect from a party who's candidate's VP lied about being pregnant. That is the party of family values isn't it?

Senator Barack Obama has shown himself to be a decent human being and an American first, and a Democratic candidate for president only after that. You, on the other hand, have shown yourself to be a partisan hack. You should be ashamed.

The truth is that many, many, politicians of both political parties have broken families.
Bush, Kennedy, Carter, Gore, Clinton, Edwards, have all had problems with alcohol, suicide, adultery, drugs, divorce, sex, etc.

I am no fan of Sen. Obama, but I have to challenge the above assertion. When did Sen. Obama fail to "pledge allegiance to [the] flag"? Yes, he did not wear a flag pin, but to state that a person is unpatriotic because he does not wear a pin is a stretch and a half. A person can wave the flag with enthusiasm and yet be unpatriotic (see Randy Cunningham or Bob Ney for example).

I do not pledge allegiance to a flag. I pledge allegiance to the United States of America. Worshiping a piece of cloth is modern idolatry. The flag is merely a symbol. You do not need to pay homage to fabric to demonstrate your love for this country. Patriotism is what is in a person's heart, and not about the magentic ribbon decals displayed on an automobile.
