Only a few of us are lucky enough to be from Texas where we have no accent. We just try to be polite and try not to mention how funny all y'all talk:)

Maybe a lot of you are myopic or suffering from post tramatic shock/stress disorder from the past eight years that you no longer believe in democracy or that we can be led with intelligence and compassion. Not the Bush model of arrogance and distortion or extortion of the taxpayers. Its hard to believe in anything after you have been so taken advantage of and abused.
My vision (of the past 8 yrs.) if fine. Pres. Bush is not running again. This is not about Bush, it'as about the choices we have now. I will admit that McCain would not have been my first choice, but given the record that Obama holds....Oh that's right, what record? He hasn't done anything worth commenting on. He does, however, have friends in low places. Imagine, if you will, this nation with Obama as president. Terrorists attack, and all he can do is make friends with them. Invite them to the white house for lunch.

I guess folks that claim the media is biased have forgotten about the drubbing Bill Clinton got over Monica Lewinsky. He didn't sink the whole country, he just embarrased it. Lord knows if Democrats had been running things the past 8 years how much flack they'd be getting. I think the Neo-cons have gotten off easy.

What are you talking about we have just had 8 years of you practicing your rights and it makes me want to throw up when you act like you don't remember this last eight years of disassembling the USA was Republicans and I don't think the US will survive another four. Bush in his naivety thought any Joe six pack can run the country with a powerful military and the marketing spin machine. Like big brother you just tell the people one thing and then you do what ever you feel like.

Interesting that a thread on Palin's contrived excuse for her interview brain fart with Katie Couric would turn into a spectacular train wreck of a discussion. Perhaps this is a new record.

That's not true, I'm from the south and abhor the use of "honey, baby, sweety", etc. I refer to you by the name given to me at introduction. I do not use my southern drawl at a moments notice to try to entice someone, I do like to use it to make fun of it however. It is very possible to drop a large part of your accent, I do it when I feel my personality will be judged based on my enunciation and pronunciation. Mrs. Palin uses her accent as a lure to try to connect with others in that fashion and hope that she can convince the hard working class that she is one of "them" based on her accent.

Obama sucks. Seriously. I mean, has anyone actually looked into his ideals and policies? We are going down if he is elected. I'll be moving to Canada. McCain isn't much better, but at least he is not a socialist. Might as well fly to Russia and get on your knees.
Actually if you're going to move, get some plastic surgery and move to China. They'll pay good money for you to get on your knees there ...
They're going to take over the world anyway, so you might as well get to the front of the line & start sucking (up) now.

I am absolutely amazed at how conveniently people who attack President Bush leave out 9/11, as though it didn't happen.

While most of you bitch and bitch about "the last 8 years" (and we hadn't voted yet), nobody talks about the global war on terror.

I thank God we have a president who is making decisions in time of war NOT BASED ON THE POLLS of Americans who do not have the facts to make such decisions.

I thank God President Bush is able to focus on keeping the US from another 9/11, unlike Clinton, who had other "pressing problems" to worry about.

I am sure the next president will have a higher approval rating the first few months, and then as the war on terror continues and the economy gets worse, you'll turn on him just as you all did against President Bush.

And I pray to God the next president will have the wisdom and maturity to IGNORE all of you people complaining and whining about the cost of gas and your retirement accounts while the real American heros are fighting for this country.

While I'm at it, here's hoping the entire state of California drops into the ocean and the US can be without the drag of its citizens on this country!

Katie Couric is the joke here. That hole interview was intensional. Ms. Couric is sure not bringing in the ratings they thought she would. I wonder why. Sure not worth the dollars they are paying her.

What experience does Obama have. Community organizer? The neighborhood he worked in is in shambles, he did nothing there, he was a failure as an organizer. Pallin has executive experience, managing a budget, and a very successful state.
Once again, look what experience has gotten us. The worst 8 years imaginable.

So is Obama any more fit to be President than Palin VP? No way, they both need many more years of experience before holding such a high office. So, do we really want a President with such limited experience or VP? I have as much experience to be Governor of my home state than Obama has being President. God help us if I was the Governor.
Are you being honest so what are the credentials you have that attest to your competence?
I quite frankly think we do stand a better chance of solving the problems of this country with either Obama or Pallin. McCain is to embedded in his experience to think new and fresh and Biden has the same problem. However I prefer someone who bases decisions in common sense like do we really want to reopen institutions to care for all the mentally challenged children we are forced into having and most spending there lives cared for in an institution or foster care because the parent can't afford them.

Does anyone here REALLY think Katie Couric, an average student out of the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, wrote her own questions?
Let me clue you in. NO.
CBS had experts in the "gotcha question" write them for her based on their analysis of Gov. Palin.
And frankly, if a reporter asked me which newspapers I read, I'd tell him/her to get back on topic and stop wasting the time of your boss!
"What do you read?" is a "gotcha" questions? It doesn't get any easier than that. Come on.

Ever hear of imminent domain? Fascist Palin thought she could illegally seize that land for her 22 million dollar mistake of a hockey rink.
