Like they should I really don't see your point here.. Research and development cost money and private money to boot.. Eagle Yes, your first three scrips did cost a penny - a pretty penny in tax dollars. Because you're covered, they were "free" for you, but they come at a cost to government, and government has not gone far enough in controlling those costs for TAXPAYERS who pay into the system and whose tax contributions continue to be eaten up covering healthcare costs (including prescription medications) which comprise 18% of our GDP versus 8% for Israel's socialized healthcare system. That's one of the areas of the ACA I detest most and one which Obama admits caving to Big Pharma demands in order to get it passed. Taxpayers pay for pharmaceutical companies to advertise their patented drugs by affording them a tax write-off for Propecia or whatever the heck "special" drug appears on the television screen. They get to deduct those costs from their tax obligations. It's a very lucrative business they have. Now, research and development are different, and if we subsidize those costs, all who need those drugs will benefit. The only way you would realize how completely outrageous drugs can be is if you price them directly (without prescription coverage) here in the USA and compare that price for the same drug sold in Thailand under the exact same conditions and standards. You might be appalled at the difference in cost to the American consumer. Big Pharma got hip to the fact that we had figured out how to order our drugs from Canada, and now we are "protected" by the FDA from those imported drugs even though they are the exact same medicines, albeit at a greatly reduced price.

positronium wrote: <quoted text>He has failed the office of the presidency..... 100% August 17, 2012 On June 8th Barack Obama told the American people that he believes “the private sector is doing fine”. He followed that up on July 26th by telling a crowd that,“we tried our plan, and it worked.” Well has it worked? The AP has released a finding that, along with dozens of other reports, show that Obama’s plan has not been as successful as the administration would like you to think . In fact, the AP reports that Obama’s economy is the worst recovery since the Great Depression. Paul Wiseman of the Associated Press states,“Since World War II, 10 U.S. recessions have been followed by a recovery that lasted at least three years. An Associated Press analysis shows that by just about any measure, the one that began in June 2009 is the weakest… Economic growth has never been weaker in a postwar recovery. Consumer spending has never been so slack. Only once has job growth been slower.” The main components of the slowed recovery are feeble growth, exhausted consumers, the jobs hole and shrinking paychecks. Via TheBlaze.com : Feeble Growth: America’s gross domestic product — the broadest measure of economic output — grew 6.8 percent from the April-June quarter of 2009 through the same quarter this year, the slowest in the first three years of a postwar recovery. GDP grew an average of 15.5 percent in the first three years of the eight other comebacks analyzed. The engines that usually drive recoveries aren’t firing this time. Exhausted Consumers: Consumer spending has grown just 6.5 percent since the recession ended, feeblest in a postwar recovery. In the first three years of previous recoveries, spending rose an average of nearly 14 percent. It’s no mystery why consumers are being frugal. Many have lost access to credit, which fueled their spending in the 2000s. Home equity has evaporated and credit cards have been canceled. Falling home prices have slashed home equity 49 percent, from $13.2 trillion in 2005 to $6.7 trillion early this year Jobs Hole: The economy shed a staggering 8.8 million jobs during and shortly after the recession. Since employment hit bottom, the economy has created just over 4 million jobs. So the new hiring has replaced 46 percent of the lost jobs, by far the worst performance since World War II. In the previous eight recoveries, the economy had regained more than 350 percent of the jobs lost, on average. During the 1981-82 Recession, the U.S. lost 2.8 million jobs. In the three years and one month after that recession ended, the economy added 9.8 million – replacing the 2.8 million and adding 7 million more. Never before have so many Americans been unemployed for so long - three years into a recovery. Nearly 5.2 million have been out of work for six months or more. The long-term unemployed account for 41 percent of the jobless; the highest mark in the other recoveries was 22 percent. Shrinking Paychecks: Earnings for production and nonsupervisory workers — a category that covers about 80 percent of the private, nonfarm workforce — have risen just over 6.2 percent since June 2009. Consumer prices have risen nearly 7.2 percent. Adjusted for inflation, wages have fallen 0.8 percent. In the previous five recoveries -the records go back only to 1964 – real wages had gone up an average 1.5 percent at this point There is a very clear choice for this November: Barack Obama who considers this report as “doing fine” and the Democratic plan as “working, or Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan who have real fiscal sense and proven track records when it comes to jobs and budgets. One thing is clear, America can’t afford four more years of Barack Obama. AP News.

Executive Orders
After today's announcement by our President to give illegal aliens quasi citizenship by fiat, I looked into the executive orders he has issued in the last three and a half years. I found this article in Western Journalism that scares the crap out of me and should frighten all of us. Get out the vote in November folks!!! This guy is dangerous...
A Comprehensive List Of Obama's Worst Executive Orders
JUNE 15, 2012 BY LAURIE ROTH
There have been over 900 Executive Orders put forth from Obama, and he is not even through his first term yet. He is creating a martial law 'Disney Land' of control covering everything imaginable. Some of the executive orders he has signed recently have been exposed thanks to 'Friends of Conservative Action Alerts.' They have compiled a choice list of 'Emergency Powers, Martial law executive orders': Get your headache medication out while you still can without a prescription.
* Executive Order 10990 allows the Government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
* Executive Order 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.
* Executive Order 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels, and minerals.
* Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
* Executive Order 11001 allows the government to take over all health education and welfare functions.
* Executive Order 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.
* Executive Order 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
* Executive Order 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate and establish new locations for populations.
* Executive Order 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways, and public storage facilities.
* Executive Order 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issues over a fifteen-year period.
* Executive Order 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.
* Executive Order 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute Industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.
* Executive Order 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit, and the flow of money in U.S. financial institutions in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when the president declares a state of emergency, Congress cannot review the action for six months.
It is more than clear that Obama is planning for the total control and takeover of America via Martial Law. Food, energy, transportation, work, banking, and health.he has it covered.
While Obama is busy pulling executive orders out of the sky to control everything inside our country, he has been issuing executive orders to force us to submit to international regulations instead of our Constitution.
