If the elections were 4 years away you would have never seen this happen. I want to see which republicans voted against it. Now we get to listen to Bush tell us that we are doomed. Let his buddies who are getting filthy rich from this war and off of the taxpayers get real jobs. Time to shut Iraq down.

I told you in one of my comments that US Congress would nt fund the Iragi war effort. So, you must know that I am capable of thinking like my hero Hillary Clinton, I say my hero not as a retard by a sophisticated academic to avoid any clause that might be considered "he's got the hots for Hill.."
Okay! So, there is no more money for the Iragi effort, so this means the troops come hoe or they can continue to fight as mercenaries and no pornography cds from the canteen. Hurray! for US Congress, now YAnkees brothers and sisters do the right thing and vote for my hero Hillary Clinton, if not for Obama Barack, they are both beautiful girls. Obama is shemale and so is Hillary, they will bring your boys home, if you elect SNAKE SKIN McCain, he'll stretch the war into the next era and Jehovah Witnesses have plans for the next era that begins after the end of this era which did not fulfil Dan Wynn's will (I mean the FATHER's WILL) Dan is my dad but suffered a horrible death a heart attack, big belly like those starving children in Africa. Okay, offficially the end of this wicked system of things ends and the climax of it is Dec. 21, 2012, and we don't SNAKE SKIN McCain to spoil the Jehovah Witnesses plans so don't cast a vote for him instead go for my old lady Hillary Clinton. Love ya! I'm in prison in Canada so can't toss a vote, although I am as much a YAnkee as you. Barry Kitchkeesic-Wynn

THAT war can't be won. It has been going on for 4000 years, and may go on for another 4000 years. Our presence only brings a little temporary calm to the place. Just like Vietnam, most of the people there are not motivated, so as soon as the US, UK, Canada, et al leave, they will go right back to chaos. After a while you have to ask, "are we really accomplishing anything there?"
With the satellite imagery today, why aren't they stopping the shipments of explosives into the country?
I'll agree the congress is comprised of a lot of bought and sold cry babies, but I don't think we should have stayed in Iraq for an extended period of time.

how come whenever someone is against an imperialist evil illegal war, they are labeled communist? it's pathetic....seriously, communism in the soviet union wasn't even communism, it was a totalitarian dictatorship, kinda like what we have here in the "democracy of the US". so stop equating peace justice respect equality with communsim. and finally i'm glad to see the House FINALLY resisted. spend the money on social domestic problems, like helping the wounded soldiers from the debacle, and how about increasing our HS graduation dropout rates, the list goes on and on...

what a bunch of fu**ing traitors , all these commies can't stand the fact that we are winning a war, hell they haven't let us win 1 since WWII: it's vietnam ,all over again, why can't people wake up and see that this is a war worth fighting, amazing at the stupidity in this country now,but i guess we will just end up fighting it here, and don't make the mistake of believing it's not coming here
Hey, I know exactly where your ISP location is! Small world...but maybe you'd be willing to explain why we're in this war, why it's worth fighting, how we're winning, and...how you figure those who are not pro-war are commies.

And for heaven's sake if I hear one more person say our troops are "fighting for our freedom" I may throw up. Our freedom had nothing to do with toppling Saddam and staying in the middle of a civil war.

Good, perhaps our policy makers will take the clue and start to plan for the future. Namely seeing that the Iraqis are trained and equipped to provide for themselves, their own security, and their financial future.

The fact that we went in without a plan to cover these contingencies is disappointing, and the costs that have resulted from our lack of preparation have been substantial. Hopefully this time they will stand up to the president and send a clear message from the 70% of their constituency who would like to see our troops come home.

For those who regard Iraq/Afghanistan as another Vietnam, well it looks like they are getting their wish.
Once again, the Democrats are turning a victory into a defeat. Just like Vietnam.
This is what happens when lawyers fight wars.
Obviously you weren't there, or probably not even born yet.
VietNam was a lesson that you forgot.
There was no victory there, and it was the Democrats that escalated the war and a Republican who ended our involvment.

Aren't the Democrats the ones complaining about how the troops don't have the right supplies and armor? Cutting their funding certainly won't help that problem.

In celebration of Memorial Day and Father’s Day I felt it was appropriate to post a letter written by a grieving father a few years ago.

Shaken father writes to president bush
Published in the Home News Tribune
2/05/04

Dear President Bush,

With heavy heart, tears in my eyes and a home full of sorrow, I pick up my pen to write you about a brave soldier, 2nd Lt. Seth J. Dvorin, U.S. Army. My son was killed in Iraq on Feb. 3, 2004 fighting in a war.
Seth was a good boy, well-mannered, smart, kind and understanding.
He joined the Army in an effort to serve his country. And serve his country he did. Seth made the ultimate sacrifice.
Burying a child will no doubt IN celebration of father’s day I felt it was appropriate to post a letter written by a grieving father written a few years be the hardest task that his mother and I shall ever have to do. The one question I have, and the one question I would like you to answer, is, "Why did my son and every other soldier that was killed, maimed and wounded have to suffer settling your vendetta?"
My son is gone just when he was laying a strong foundation to build upon for the rest of his life.
Now, President Bush, his life has been snuffed out in a meaningless war.
Where are all the weapons of mass destruction, where are the stock piles of chemical and biological weapons?
Please Mr President, pray for all our fallen heroes and as a tribute to these heroes get our boys and girls out of Iraq now, before too much more blood is shed.
Since you waged this unnecessary war on Saddam Hussein the world has become a horrible place to live in.
I know my boy is safe now, in a new world free of hate and prejudices where GOD is his president, but you tell me President Bush why he had to go so soon and in such a violent way.

Respectfully yours, Richard M. Dvorin

thank you

US Congress under the rule of the left wing liberal socialist will be remembered as the worst US Congress in US history that pushed US national security and economy down to self destruction.
The US left wing liberals led by Hillary support the radical Islamic terrorists against US troops and believe that defeat of our brave US troops by the Iranian regime’s Islamic terrorists and Osama Bin laden al Qaida Islamic terrorists will help Hillary to become the next president.
The left wing liberals insist on putting embargo on US oil production only to support the hundreds of billions of dollars that US send annually to Saudi King Abdullah that is used for the al Qaida Islamic terrorists attacks on US troops.
The American people are held hostages to the US Congress that drive US economy to shambles using the embargo on US own production drilling and making US national security and economy dependent on the radical Islamic regimes of the Middle east that support the Islamic terrorists against our US troops.
It is time to vote out the anti-American Congressmen and congresswomen that cannot care less about the American people and care only for their re-election, their own greediness and own career like Hillary.

Oh that right. The crooked republicans have been in complete control of 7 years and now everything is the Dems fault.

No. We are in this mess because of you conservatives and your crooked leader bush.

You republicans have to be kidding me. You think dems can just waltz in and undo ALL the corruption bush has created?

We need to get control of the senate first folks.

Conservatives have filibustered at a historic rate folks and bush vetos everything.

Dont kid yourselves. WE NEED 60 VOTES IN THE SENATE NOT 50 TO CREATE CHANGE.

Oil is to win to the neocons. That's why the war started. And now in a civil, religious conflict, no matter what side you are on it's the wrong side. There is no winning.

My thoughts exactly. This is a purely political move with the intent to sway voters. As you stated, if the Democrats truly cared about the soldiers, they would've passed the bill and included even more funding.
