That doesn't answer the question. Where is the line drawn, and why?
Yes it did answer the question. I personally could give a crap if you want to marry your sister or have five wives. As the law stands you cant, so hire a lawyer and have at it!... They have nothing I repeat nothing to do with same sex marriage. Now you can cloud the issue at hand by attempting to bring them into the topic, but that is a rather lame argument.

SCOTUS recognized an interracial husband and wife are no different than a husband and wife of the same race, and vice versa.
The legal basis for the Supreme Court ruling was recognition that anti-miscegenation laws were simply a form of invidious discrimination based on race, which violated the constitution.
Pietro Armando wrote:
The conjugal nature of the marital relationship is not changed by the racial/ethnicity of the man and woman involved.
Your continued mistaken belief in some fictitious "conjugal nature" of marriage has no basis in law. No state requires applicants for marriage licenses to affirm an ability or even a desire to have sex after marriage. No state requires marriages to be consummated to be considered valid or legally recognized. Men who are impotent are not excluded from obtaining a marriage license.

You seem to be conflating the doctrines of certain religious groups with the nature/requirements of civil marriage. Unfortunately for you, religious views apply only to the adherents of such religions and are irrelevant in a discussion of civil marriage.

Try again.

At what point, does it become pointless? Drop the opposite sex requirement to satisfy gay people. Drop the number two to satisfy the polygamists. Where is the line? Who cares about two siblings then? If "rights" trumps everything else, there no point in denying any consenting adult relationship a license.
The line is the one seperating REALITY from your hypotheticals.

Drop the opposite sex requirement to satisfy gay people? Hello? Is there a legitimate government interest in prohibiting gay couples from equal protection of the law? Well, is there?

Your arguments are all emotional instead of logical. The slippery slope argument you are using here is a FALLACY. Do you understand the word fallacy? It means "not logically concluded, therefore FALSE." Gay people are NOT advocating complete and total abrogation of all marriage requirements. Why are you trying to make it look like we are? We are asking for gay couples to be included. We do not represent polygamists, or incestuous couples, or underage couples, or man/dog couples or any other ridiculous combo you keep throwing at us. So stop with that stupid argument. Jesus tap-dancing Christ!

BS. If every gay couple married tomorrow, it would not affect one hetero marriage. All it might do is upset those who want marriage to be a private hetero club, and that's not a valid reason to deny rights to american citizens.

If polygamists were allowed to marry tomorrow, that wouldn't effect my marriage either, yet, our government doesn't recognize it as a legal marriage...

But you 'do' realize that 'consummation' is grounds for annullment if not done so in a reasonable time after the licensed takes effect, right??? Also only a man and a woman can consummate a marriage.

It is perfectly okay that NOT every Gay or Lesbian is pro-marriage......just like it is okay that not all straights are pro-marriage or not against Gays and Lesbians having the right to marry.
People do have the right to different opinions and viewpoints........they just don't have the right to vote on others rights to these institutions......and I seriously doubt that this author is willing to vote that right away.....but they could........still not okay though!!!
I had a high school friend and his partner come to our wedding.....they don't believe in marriage for themselves, but they were happy for us and helped celebrate our special day.....that meant the world to us:-)
You all keep saying we don't have a right to vote marriage away from you, then why do you insist on putting it on every ballot???

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Taurus

The sad fact is that a certain person isn't making much sense right now. They seem to be talking nonsense, or maybe they've got the wrong end of the stick but are hanging on to it for grim death and refuse to let you correct them. Mind you, there's also the possibility that you're the one who has got themselves in a muddle but doesn't realize it. Scary!
