PAID union shill talking point 'race to the bottom' actually really applies to the taxpayers themselves who are forced to pay for the exorbitant bennies paid out to public service employees which were obtained by their marxist thug union bosses through their corrupt incestuous relationship with marxist demoRatic politicians. These PAID union shills are actually trying to make gullible nonunion American taxpayers accept and be damn glad that these public sector employees are getting these undeserved corruptly obtained bennies that they themselves don't have.
LOL...yeah you are just another self absorbed anti-American who believes no one deserves decent pay or benefits for hard work (except of course YOU), tell it to the next fire fighter or police officer that you see. Maybe both should forget to show up when you call. You are just a joke and when the trickle down hits your doorstep that will be the just deserts you deserve. Enjoy your race to the bottom, you belong there.

It is all the same.. You fools are so willing to give up rights. Strip rights from others. With out any idea of what you are truly giving up.. And that is beyond pathetic.
A little FYI this is crap. "if you don't provide the best wages and benefits for your employees that you can afford then your employees will leave you for an employer who will provide them.." Is that what you tell yourself while on the job. I know I did as an employee. but the reality is far different as an owner.
I can replace any one with half the pay. In this economy as an owner I can do it. Guess what. I will have just as good employees. Maybe even better as they will know I will replace them at any time. Nothing like a little fear of your job to keep everyone from complaining.
This is reality pal.. Reality is that I do not need paying a good wage to my employees. I can get away with paying them 8.50 an hour as a part time job. Getting me out from under a host of regulations just by keeping my employee numbers down to 10 or less. Care to call me liar.
You can believe me when I tell you that I over pay my employees. That many other owners think I am nuts that I should pay a tech as much as I do and still provide benefits as a part time job. Not much mind as my shop has under five employees and the medical benefits for that I can realistically offer to my employees is not as good as I would like.
I could improve my bottom line just by cutting two employees and cutting out all benefits. Don't think for a moment if that is what I need to keep place open. I wont do it. I will
No union to tell me different. No recourse for the former employees. Just go apply for your unemployment and that is another reality. Oh and have fun with COBRA. Can't afford that either.. What a ~shame~.
This is truth that you are denying.
So give up your rights to collective bargaining. Strip those rights from others. Do it. As an owner it just makes it easier to hire and fire as I chose to do so. Reality.
They are completely oblivious to what is going to happen. They are simply full of themselves thinking it will not effect them. They will be the ones crying the loudest and still blaming unions!! LOL!!

<quoted text> Neither my husband or I have ever worked Union jobs cause we don't believe in them and we thrived just fine, but then we are the type of people that are happy to have what we can afford and never lived beyond our means. We taught our kids the same values, we aren't anywhere near a race to the bottom, it took some time but now that we are older and our kids are on their own, we are doing more than fine, and so are our kids without help from mom & dad too so we're very fortunate and didn't need the union to help us get there either. Just planned wisely when we were young, didn't feel we needed everything NEW like right now, we got new when we could afford it, otherwise things were bought used and then gradually replaced as we did better, and did it ourselves, what a concept, huh?
Well lucky for the unions! Weak members like you and your husband are not wanted anyway.

Gee Nancy, do you really think you and your husband are the only ones who have not lived beyond their means? Do you really think union workers do? My father worked a not so nice union city job all his life after returning from WW2, he did what he had to do in order to raise a family. he did not live beyond his means, nor did his daughter. What a concept?? My husband and I have paid off two homes, never had a new home nor a new vehicle. Now that we are older we are working harder and longer for less wondering if we will be able to keep what we have worked for. I doubt it, the crappublicans never cared for the middle class and would like nothing more than to confiscate the wealth they have. Enjoy your race to the bottom!

Fought for their right to a decent life? What kind of socialistic bs is that. I have never been in a union nor would i ever join a union. Unions are for the lazy and non skilled to use as a shield. The fact is that if you have a good work ethic, skills and abilities you will make a good wage. You want to know why? because all smart employers who make money are looking for these people , even in this economy.
Yeah thats right fought for the right for a decent life for workers. Obviously you do not know a damn thing about history. i have always found that those that accuse others of being lazy are all talk and no work. Consider yourself among that group. The fact is wages are going down and it makes no difference what skills or work ethic you have. The employers cut good employees all the time regardless, the bottom line is all that counts. Enjoy your race to the bottom!

In a race to the bottom union thugs win hands down, they are already there.

Weak members? What does that mean, they don't vote democrat as instructed?

Oh, I guess non of us Republicans are in that middle class category, we are all and have all been very rich all along, right! I hardly think so, my husband and I have been in the same position as you for many years, it's only since our kids have grown and gone and we've made some wise choices financially that we are doing great the last few years. I have never had a new home either, and we have had four homes, this one being our last. And I was nearly fifty before I got a brand new car, so tell me all about it. We just took things as they came and delt with it as best we could, but we still never did lack for the necessities, we survived just fine. Sure my husband had to work two jobs a couple times cause we had two kids so I didn't go to work til they became of school age, but it worked out fine in the end. So you see, like your dad, we did what we had to also! Everybody does what they have too, your dad nor you are not the only ones who have been in that position anymore than we are.

I have enough backbone to do without a union and stand up to the thuggery and corruption they embody.

That is YOUR race to the bottom. And you are winning.

With the exception that it was your generation that ruined the economy for the rest of us. If you are 50 now, that means your kids were raised during an economic boom. Good for you. I'm sure you had it nice. Now though, with our rights being eroded left and right, labor rights, and human rights, you sit on your high horse and say it's the same for everyone? Get a clue, and get a life.

I didn't say I was 50, I said I never had a new car til I was 50! No, I didn't have it nice in our earlier years of marriage, we toughed it out just like alot of people with young kids, I said it wasn't til they left home that things got better and we made some good financial decisions at that point which helped us get where we are today. Not rich, but comfy. I never said it was the same for everyone either, that is you putting words in my mouth. I have a clue and a life too!

No, you will be supporting the GOP plutocracy who believe in slavery and not paying people for an honest days work...speaking of corruption as though corporations are spotless, yes of course...we all know they are! They don't get much more naive than you. Enjoy your race to the bottom, you don't have the guts to stand up for yourself or Americans who actually go to work and produce.
You know, you aren't the only one who actually works and produces, there are many of us that do the same even if we aren't union. And we did stand up for ourselves by not buying all that Union bull crap like you have. You feel you need them fine, we didn't and still don't need them, and survived just fine without them as many others have too! Go cry on someone else's shoulder, no sympathy for you here!

Enjoy your race to the bottom see where the concept of individualism gets you! On your knees boy! The military should practice individualism too! Oh Oh what happens to individualism now??? Hang out with Blueblob he is a clueless individualist who lives in mommies basement expecting women to take care of him !! He is all for individualism (himself) except for women!

You are right I have watched as unions faded the labor laws eroding. Always remember that human rights take a back seat to the bottom line, and when the line gets thin the masses will suffer and will not have the backbone to stand together!

There will be no voice for the common people. Corporations and the rich will govern, the people will have no voice, no lobby group and no rights. Just wait till wages drop to nothing, and all the things that unions fought for will be gone. Kiss goodbye your quality of life! The republicans are the party of the rich sponsored by the religious right who now OWN the GOP and are slowly creeping into the Democrat party. Theocracy is on its way! The people will have "god" and nothing more.
The rich are already governing. From where you work to those who run our governments, it is the rich who make ALL the decisions in our lives and create ALL the rules and regulations that make life better for THEM.

I'm 54 and I agree with you, except that I don't remember that economic boom. I always thought MY parents had it better than have. They were able to raise a family on one blue collar salary. My dad retired many years ago on his company pension. Me? No company pension going on here. I'll be lucky to see social security still intact.

Every generation is now having it worse than the one before it. You young people coming out of college up to your eyeballs in debt and no decent jobs...in my book, that's scary. And I will agree that the worker in this country is losing more and more rights every day. The rich who run the companies see workers as a necessary evil that should be gotten rid of as soon as feasibly possible.

In nearly every arena - education, corporate or government - if we got rid of many of the overpaid executives and managers and hired more real workers the company would save money and more productivity would take place.

Yes, our rights are being eroded but once we can kick Obamanzai out we can fix that.

Someone is confused and muddled today, making it difficult to talk for long without becoming equally bemused. Avoid making decisions or researching important information, because there's a strong possibility of getting crossed wires, or talking at cross purposes. A memory may also be distorted now, leading to mix-ups or bewilderment.
