Seriously, shithead. You're not REALLY this stupid, are you?
5 trillion in debt is what's obstructing any recovery. There is no recovery. 15% unemployment is low it's more like 19%. You're the stupid one. Dumb liberal bastards.

God forbid that a major construction project would be introduced to alleviate some of our unemployment problems as well as eventually decrease the massive transfer of US wealth to the Middle East for oil. The Canadians have said that if we don't want their oil, they have an eager customer in China. The Obama wasted a fortuneon useless stimulus projects. Now is a golden opportunity to redeem itself. Unfortunately, it is so mired in myopic ideology that the damage it is doing may well never be undone.

I voted in the PA primary today and was totally disgusted. There were only two contested races and all of the convention delegates were committed to Obama. In the past, we could express our disapproval with our votes. Today, it was just going through the motions. We can't even get rid of these people by voting them out of office. And so, they continue on the road to ruin, dragging us along with them.

You live in a dream world Harv. Production may well be up, but not enough. Not Enough. We will vote for the people who increase the production, allow exploration on all lands, and generally understands that if we had spent the money on exploration we lost on investments into the green industry we would be much better off. What's ironic is that the same liberals who touted Obama's stimulus plan lament that the construction jobs for Keystone are only temporary -- forgetting that Obama's stimulus 'jobs' were likewise only temporary.

The BIG difference is that Keystone wouldn't cost taxpayers $800 billion for those 'temporary' jobs-- and Keystone would provide 13,000 permanent jobs maintaining the pumping stations.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but NOT your own facts.

US oil production is now higher than during the Bush Lite terms.

Also, no US President, nor the leader of ANY country, has the ability/authority to set the global price for oil. NONE! That is done by the wonders of the Free Market -- something you conservatives profess to know about.

Maybe not!

Incorrect. US oil production was higher in 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994 and 1993.

What's ironic is that the same liberals who touted Obama's stimulus plan lament that the construction jobs for Keystone are only temporary -- forgetting that Obama's stimulus 'jobs' were likewise only temporary.

My feelings exactly. Construction work, by its nature, is temporary. A job may last several months or even years, depending upon the project. The pipeline would be a major employer for a significant period of time. And yes, you are correct in asserting that permanent jobs would arise from the completed project.

The only stimulus activity I actually saw in my particular area was PennDOT crews rounding off curbs for handicap accessibility. Unfortunately, the newly paved curbs lead to old cracked slate sidewalks in many neighborhoods. Conversely, a local undertaker had the walkway from his parking lot upgraded for accessibility some years ago and it was completely paved from the lot to a ramp for the convenience of those in wheelchairs. He pointed this out to the engineer from PennDOT but was told that his costly renovation would have to be torn up and replaced with the less accessible curbs. The completed job resulted in a precast curb which was not level with his sidewalks. He has since replaced it, concerned that some elderly person would misstep and fall. So much for wasting money.

I notice that some posters are justifying Obama with evidence from the Bush administration. This was the main talking point at least two years into the Obama administration until people were tired of hearing about how bad Bush was while waiting for Obama to get his act together. Obama dropped a bundle on Brazil for oil drilling, hinting that this was the first installment and we would be its best customers. The Keystone project is viable, will most likely be profitable and can do wonders in stimulating the economy. It can reduce the transfer of wealth to oil producing nations in the Middle East. The only reason I can think of for the Democratic stance is thatt the welfare of China is of the utmost importance to the current administration and US citizens can go to hell, for all that anyone in Washington cares.
