John McCain putting Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in one of his ads. Oh yeah, his Republican voters will take him very seriously! He just did the Dems a favor! Maybe John McCain would like Britney Spears to come on the campaign trail with him? LOL!

You wonder how the right wingers would like it if the dems put out an ad comparing John McCain to, oh I dunno, Estelle Getty and Bea Arther. They would be screaming bloody murder.

I think the purpose of using the young women celebritities on the ad was to get more dirty old white men to watch the ad, sort of like using Dana Perrino as press secretary for Bush. Rest in peace, Tony Snow. We forgive you. We are glad you had time to know you were well-liked, despite your partisanship. At least you certainly were not just a pretty face. I do not believe you would have been comfortable sinking so low as the Bush White House, Fox news, and the McCain campaign have sunk. Democrats and liberals of faith should pray for you and Lee Atwater. Those who draw the line, or who repent of having gone over the line, and express regret, are very different from the evil men (former Bush and Rove operatives, many of whom ran the ads and underground slanders of John McCain himself in 2000, on behalf of Bush) who are running the McCain campaign now. Too bad McCain learned the wrong lesson from recent history -- he could have gone the other way. There are some decent GOP political managers left -- and a few decent GOP candidates for them to work for. Even as a Democrat who wants to get to 60 votes in the Senate, I find it difficult to oppose Senator Smith in Oregon and Senator Collins in Maine. The one way to do so, is by asking Senator Obama to promise that a very suitable position in the new Administration would be found for them, where they can continue to do good work in the areas where they specialize and have both effective and compassionate policy views.

It's sad McCain has to resort to these kinds of tactics. Shouldn't he be emphasizing what he feels are his qualifications and what he thinks he can do to improve the country? That just goes to show you he knows he is out of touch with the average American. Desperation can be unappealing.
