disgraced London banker has rescinded an offer to co-host a high-dollar fundraiser for Mitt Romney, sparing the GOP hopeful the difficulty of appearing at a lavish event with a man embroiled in scandal.

Romney's plan to hold a fundraiser in London this summer with Barclays CEO Robert Diamond was reported June 28 by the London Telegraph. The cost of the dinner seemed to shock the British paper, which noted that "the price of invitations dwarfs the amounts paid for such fund-raisers in British politics."

On Tuesday, Diamond resigned from Barclays after his bank was fined more than $450 million by British and U.S. authorities for attempting to manipulate the Libor rate (London interbank offered rate), a key global metric used to set everything from credit card to mortgage interest rates

If being gay is so terrible and frightening to even admit that gay people exist to school kids, how can you expect the gay kids to be treated as equals by other students?

And it's not just about kids who are gay, it's about ANY kid who might possibly be perceived as gay, or what an ignorant child might imagine being gay, is. If the "difference" is too scary and off limits to even discuss, you don't think that will cause problems for ANY kid who is different?

You can't have it both ways.

Your disorder is showing, again. When that whole Alameda lesson 9 BS was going down, a news organization did some research and found no incidents of bullying gay elementary school students. Zero, none. Yet, if you were to believe the gay propaganda people, lesson 9 was badly needed to stop this imaginary bullying.

And once again, you rely upon a curriculum in a state where gay marriage isn't legal.

Wondering, can you prove that you are competent by indicating any concrete link between your argument regarding school curricula, and gay marriage, which is the topic at hand?

If not, the you are simply an idiot, making an utterly irrelevant argument.

Why do you place gays above all others?
How many gay elementary school kids were murdered?
How many elementary school kids know that they're gay?
Do you think the pain on the parents of Phoebe Prince was less than the pain on the parents of Tyler Clementi?
Do you think Tyler Clementi's death was more special or more important than the death of Phoebe Prince?
Why are you opposed to treating child victims equally?

Ahem, do you feel that the punishment of the law was significantly different in these cases?

Here's a clue, it wasn't.

Oh, you are making utterly irrelevant arguments again. Of course, that comes as no surprise, as you have proven yourself as being utterly incompetent to make a valid argument on the topic at hand.

Apparently, you also lack the reading comprehension to examine court outcomes and even find an extraordinary case where there was substantially differing sentencing to make your tangential argument. Thank you, Wondering, for proving anew that you are perfectly incompetent in every way.

In each of these instances the death of a young person due to bullying is tragic, and each case shows a specific shortcoming in our current educational institutions to prevent bullying, or provide appropriate counsel for young students. Actually, I also think the two cases that you have so ineptly decided to cite, also show a gross miscarriage of justice as all involved received inappropriately light sentencing for actions which resulted in a death.

You are aware that anti-bully laws and education protected EVERYONE equally, right? So do anti-discrimination laws.

It's YOUR premise that they are targeted only toward kids who are perceived as gay. It's YOUR argument that gay people only feel the pain of a young person's suffering or death if the victim is gay.

It's not our belief or premise.

However, you can't argue that some brutal attacks on children by other kids come when that bullied child is perceived to be gay. It was happening when I was a kid, and it's still happening today.

That's why ALL children should be protected. Your child or grandchild doesn't have to be gay at all to suffer in this way.

When kids hear from their parents, and from society as a whole, that gay people are so evil, so bad, and so nasty, that everyone should revile and shun them, it sets up the perfect storm against that kid in class they think is a bit different.

And your beliefs and attitude promote that.

1. Yes, so why the emphasis on homosexuals? Aren't they just kids?
2. Do you drink or is it that you don't understand what you read. People that try to put their words (you) in my mouth are ridiculous (you.)
3. Or too short or too skinny or Jewish or black or dozens of other reasons. Why do you think gays are more important than anyone else?
4. Nonsense deleted.

I think I'll call you the not so artful dodger.
You have excluded the gay students when you repetedly demand that those gay kids remain in the closet.

If they come out, you have no problem labeling them as abnormal. You have no problem denying them entry to a school dance with their same-sex partner. You have no problem pulling books off shelves and banning the curriculum from mentioning gays and lesbians in a positive light.

Sure, you may tell the other students not beat or taunt the gay kids, but you have told those students that the gay kids are unworthy of their empathy. You have told those students that they are better than the gay kids. You have told those gay kids that they are unworthy of even asking to take the date of their choice to the school dance. You have told the kid with same-sex parents whom they love equally that they cannot have their two mothers come in as classroom helpers like the other students have their parents.

Sure, you will keep those gay kids safe so long as they adhear to your conditions. YOU are the ultimate artful dodger.

The program for education is K-12, theoretically geared for each grade level, as was were the civil rights curricula of the '50s-'70s.

To mirror your question, how many elementary kids know they're hetero?

Anti-bullying curricula were merely started by gay people. All benefit if designed and executed adroitly.

Considering the numbers of kids who can barely read and do basic kitchen arithemetic, though, the evidence regarding pedagogical incompetence suggests that the outlook is grim.

1. Never happened. What happens when someone 'comes out?' A person announces he's gay, see Anderson Cooper and Barney Frank. This has nothing to do with giving straight 5 year olds gay books in public school.
2. A school dance doesn't happen in elementary school.
3. You are free to buy them and teach your children whatever you want to. You have no problem force feeding straight kids gay material against the wishes of their families. If gay subjects are ever mandated it sould be limited to higher grades and all 'lights' should be exposed, facts remember.
4. What part of "any kid for any reason" are you having problems with?
5, 6 & 7. Your disorder is showing.
8. Can you walk into a first grade class and point out the 0.75 gay student?

Are these questions really too difficult for you?

"Anti-bullying curricula were merely started by gay people. All benefit if designed and executed adroitly."
Really? These programs have been called counterproductive and impossible.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Scorpio

Don't believe everything you see today and your memory could be playing tricks on you, too. You might remember things in a distorted or false way, through no fault of your own. You may also be reading too much into the situations that are going on around you, making it hard for you to know what's really happening. Try not to make any big decisions today because you simply aren't thinking straight.
