HE WHO FANS THE COALS of HATE An angry man opens his mouth And shuts his mind to reason. He who stays slow to anger Is loved by more each season. Anger snuffs the lamp of thought And it's hard to stay serene. Where anger rules hatred thrives Then the world we love turns mean. He who fans the coals of hate Has no reason to complain. If some hot sparks scorch his face His anguish is thus his pain. Anger is a human madness Which consumes the heart and mind. He who rules his spirit with love Shall be praised by all mankind. THE PRESIDENCY Those who wish to be President Must practice what they teach. For their people need inspiring To believe what they preach. Take heed therefore, unto yourselves You overseers of the flock Or the voters shall cast you out For your futures are not of rock. Life may place you in deep waters Though it doesn't wish you to drown. It's your past record that lets us know Who you are as you smile or frown. If you wish to be remembered From the truth you must never part. Power corrupts the best of us When we stop listening to our heart. By Tom Zart

American Voter wrote: <quoted text> Maybe he didn't critisize Carter because Carter is a private citizen, not a government representative? BTW, McCain wanted to talk to Hamas two years ago: Hypocrisy on Hamas McCain Was for Talking Before He Was Against It http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/... Transcript and video: Two years ago, in an interview with James Rubin for Sky News, Sen. John McCain expressed a willingness to negotiate with the terrorist group Hamas -- the very group that McCain has been relentlessly using to smear Sen. Barack Obama over the last several weeks. Rubin has written an op-ed in Friday's Washington Post about his exchange with McCain, and The Huffington Post has obtained exclusive video. Here's the key excerpt: RUBIN: "Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge?" McCAIN: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so ... but it's a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that." Given that exchange, the new John McCain might say that Hamas should be rooting for the old John McCain to win the presidential election. The old John McCain, it appears, was ready to do business with a Hamas-led government, while both Clinton and Obama have said that Hamas must change its policies toward Israel and terrorism before it can have diplomatic relations with the United States. Even if McCain had not favored doing business with Hamas two years ago, he had no business smearing Barack Obama. But given his stated position then, it is either the height of hypocrisy or a case of political amnesia for McCain to inject Hamas into the American election. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/15/excl... McCain is a sellout who will do or say anything to win the White House. What is it about DEAL WITH that you don't understand is different from NEGOTIATE WITH or TALK TO? We could "deal with" Hamas, Armadinejad, Hezbollah, bin Laden...that does NOT mean we would necessarily sit down and have a round table discussion. You guys must watch MSNBC.

Obama is a citizen of Kenya, as well as USA. Does anyone else see a conflict? http://www.politicalgateway.com/main/columns/ ... Why doesn't he tell us about that?

Why do you think he was so upset about his passport being accessed? He knows he is a citizen of Kenya. His birth certificate has a Kenyan father listed on it. That makes him a citizen of Kenya, as well as USA. Where does his loyalty lie? A major conflict if you ask me.

Sen Obama's birth date August 4, 1961. They said he became a citizen in 1963. Do the math. If he's a citizen would it because his father is Kenyan?(dual) However in the USA if a child is born to a citizen of the US and born in the USA he or she is a citizen. That is why you are so concern because you can't come up with anything else.

I saw McCain's speech. It was so inspiring, at one point all three people applauded. He seemed so out of it, he didn't even seem to be paying attention to what he was reading.

The Republicans do it to try to make Obama seem inexperienced and dangerous, Obama does it to point out that the policy McBush is supporting has been a disaster of epic proportions and that it is naive to think we can continue . The latter is the same point of view of most of the nations of the modern world which is why I think we need to elect Obama and get some other countries to help with the mess. Something I don't think some angry, old, white guy is going to be able to do since he has been on board with the ideas of Bush right from the beginning. He never met a war he didn"t like and thinks it's our god given right to impose our will on any nation whenever we think it's necessary and especially when it's not. Bush and McCain neither one have much foreign policy credibility in the real world. They may have experience but they don't seem to learn anything and have both made so many blunders that they have no credibility. I think Obama was right to point out that they are the ones who keep making the wrong moves and that is more naive than a lack of experience.

typical sane person wrote: ABSOLUTELY TRUE: THE JANITOR AND OBAMA. Consider the following scenario. Let's say you owned an office building. And, that office building was an investment that represented all of your life's saviings. Your, and your family's sole source of income and retirement. And, you had a job opening for a JANITOR. Would you hire a JANITOR who came with a glowing recommendation from a Honcho of the Homicidal HAMAS Terrorists. You know, the chaps the PC LibDems call "insurgents"....for fear of offending them. These folks who when they capture a prisoner, they chop off a finger at a time...then the toes......then the arms....legs .........then giggling happily.....stick the genitalia of the victim in his mouth.....before the final head chop. Oh yes.....then they leave the bloody result as a third base on a baseball field. Oh, but that's not all........this potential JANITOR has a "friend". This "friend" happens to be an UNREPENTANT HOMICIDAL TERRORIST MANIAC by the name of BILL AYERS. Bill Ayers bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol Building, and the Headquarters of the NY City Police.......and he did apologize......he apologized.....documented on film.... he apologized that he didn't do more damage. QUESTION: WOULD YOU HIRE THIS GUY AS A JANITOR IN YOUR BUILDING ?!?!?!? OH ......OH......I GEDDIT !!!!!!! Even you LibDems wouldn't hire him as a JANITOR. That would be too risky. But, being the intelligent, politically astute LibDems that you are......you'd elect OBAMA as the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA !!!! Ya see......I toldja it was a true story. Are you going to post this BS everywhere? I mean it's not even very good. The whole premise of a Harvard educated candidate for President of the United States applying for a janitors job is beyond absurd, and I've actually hired people to be janitors and I'm telling you we didn't do much of a background check. Now that was twenty years ago, and things may be a bit different, but I'm guessing they would be more concerned with whether or not he was here legally. And despite what Jim says, he is so a citizen.

Yeh, those folks at the NRA are a tough crowd, he should have tried the "cold dead hands" line, that always gets'em. of course it has nothing to do with foreign policy but they're all voting republican any way so they wouldn't have noticed.

Obama's birth certificate states his father is Kenyan. If so, that makes him a dual citizen. Where does his loyalty lie? Seems like a conflict of interest.

Where are you getting your information? it's totally bogus. Just think about it, if he was a Muslim or held dual citizenship don't you think the oposition would be all over it? Have you ever heard Hillary or McCain say either of these things. I don't think its even legal to hold dual citizenship, It didn't used to be legal, maybe they changed it. If anyone out there knows if it's legal I would like to know.

Hillary Clinton Universal Health Care Plan (A Reform Plan) is a Federal Plan that offer affordable Health Insurance for all American People... On the otherhand, Supposely, Obama "Illinois Plan" is for some of the people to have Health Insurance Coverge. The Obama's "Illinois Plan" will require that Dead-Beat-Dads and Dead-Beat- Moms to pay Medical Health Insurance for their children. If either the Dead Beat Dad or Dead Beat Mom decides not to work, then, the Child wouldnot have any Health Care Insurance Coverages.
Child Support is the responsibility of the state or local government.

It goes to the heart of John MCain philosphy. He only concern with his own self interest like the President. It's still we the people !! Realistically, Why would anyone vote for John McCain ? He doesn't represent change. He's tied heavily to lobbyist. Kids don't want him. The PeaceKeeping Mission is draining the economy and now beholding to the Chinese.Wall Street couldn't possibly want him. Oil prices are ridiculous and no apparent reason other then greed. With MCCain there be no end in sight and prices will continue to rise and the value of the dollar will be lucky to be equivalent to the Italien Lire I don't have one legitimate reason to vote for Senator McCain. He doesn't have a real legitmate solution to the border situation. We have so many problems on the home front that have been badly neglected and he's still over in the Middle East. What about us ? What about America John ? Our corruption maybe as bad as Iraq ? Tell your Mama I'm for Obama ! and "Big Brown" in the Preakness!! You are making statements that might sound good to the uninformed but simply aren't true. We are only spending around 4% of our GNP on the military and that includes the War in Iraq, and is actually lower than it has been in the past. If you don't believe me then look it up. Tying the War in Iraq to the economic problems we are having is simply not true. If we weren't in Iraq you wouldn't have a nickel more in your pocket. When you'll have less is after Obama gets done screwing the economy over by raising taxes on the upper middle class. Like it or not if you screw those people over you kill the economy, because they are the ones that spend the most and provide the most jobs. Every time taxes have been raised the economy has tanked, so while it may be a popular theme to soak the upper middle class it will hurt us all in the end. Our economic problems began with the greed of the stock market run up and was exacerbated by the greed of the real estate run up. We also don't like it, but worldwide demand for oil is way up, in particular from China. We've helped fuel their demand by outsourcing so much manufacturing to them, led by companies like Wal-Mart who demands manufacturers cut their prices year after year or else they will buy from someone else who will. Bush, McCain, Clinton, Obama, whoever you pick can't control the price of oil. China is the main competitor. One household in 70 in China currently has a car, and China is expected to double it's oil imports in the next 10 years. So, while it's popular to blame Bush for everything it's really a farce to do so. And on the border issue, you really think Obama is going to do anything about that? So, all you do is diss McCain, but Obama has no solutions for anything other than to blabber on and on about his idea of "change" which means totally screwing up the middle east, rasining taxes, increasing welfare, trashing the economy, and buddying up to all foreign terrorists and dictators. Sounds like the "change" we need to me. People aren't stupid, he'll never get elected.

The whole trouble with Democrats, and Obama in particular, is that when they talk directly with foreign leaders, they ask them what they want and that's what they get. For instance, the billions that Clinton was giving away to fund nuclear plants for North Korea. How dumb was that?? At least Republicans hold back on some of the goods. Democrats just give away America's resources, saying, who cares, that's just rich people's money anyway.
