According to government figures, payroll employment has declined by 463,000 jobs over the first seven months of this year. Over the past 12 months, the number of unemployed persons has increased by 1.6 million and the unemployment rate has increased by 1 full percentage point to 5.7%. Go Bush, Go!!!! I know you can get us up to 10% unemployment before you leave office!!! And with any luck, McBush III will enter the white house to take us to 20+% during his term. Now, if only we could find that wascally wabbit named bin Waden. Go, Bush/McBush, Go!!! How about some facts....George Bush has been in office 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine and unemployment was at 4.5% Then we got a democratic congress and unemployment is up to 5%(a 10% increase)....but Democrats don't want facts...do they?

also to Puppet Master....Regular gas was at $2.19 a gallon now it is $4.00 but it is easy to blame this President that has had more catastrophic events in his term than any other I can remember in my time to vote.

my kind of town wrote: <quoted text> So, Earnest - you seem to have inside information... explain why Sarah Palin attending 6 colleges in 6 years is a great indication of why she is qualified to be next in line for the Presidency. Does education matter? Does a persons spotty stamina and stability in their endeavors raise a red flag for you? How about embellishing one's credentials? Another red flag? Reportedly Sarah didn't like the climate at her first college in Hawaii...what happened at the next five? Character, judgement, constancy, committment...these words don't fit into Palins profile. Stay tuned. Well, My Town, it seems like you Obamacons now have graduated from she faked her pregnancy to she's a hypocrite for not staying at home to she went to 6 colleges in an attempt to knock her character. She graduated didn't she. But oh, wait, it wasn't from an Ivy League school. Is there a VP prerequisite limiting the number of schools a candidate can attend? The whole point here is that she truly is an outsider - common folk cut from the same common cloth as most of us. She isn't connected in the inside politics of her state, Washington or any local corrupt political machine like someone we know (well, not exactly, the fawning media still gives him the kid glove routine). Finally, some of the best executives this country has produced attended more than a few schools, some none at all. Character, persistence, intregity, honesty, chutzpah and street smarts matter most. You know, in most European countries, if you don't make it to college, your options of moving up in society are slim. How many American success stories are out there that involve high school dropouts. Let the lady speak. Give it time. If experience is so important to you just remember, Palin is on the bench, Obama is at bat.

The Pesident has no contol on oil prices. Congress has made it hard to drill. More oil means lower prices. They want gas high so alternative fuels is more attractive. By regulations, it takes years just to be able to drill. Even after oil companies has bought right to the land

Amen, finally a sensible comment. Don't forget that when Bush entered the White House in 2000, the country WAS IN A RECESSION!! And if someone replies that we're now in a recession: we are not. In fact, we had positive growth in our first and second quarters this year. It takes two quarters of negative growth to be in a recession.

She said she got a new pipeline -the largest public/private project "underway." This old PROPOSAL, if approved by an unsigned Canadian company has been floated for over 10 years and is more than a decade away from being realized if at all. She implied cutting costs and trimming her state budget- Alaska now has its biggest deficit ever She seems to have fudged, or allowed others to fudge her education history (leaving out five additonal schools) She took six years to emerge with a still vague "degree" and her work history, prior to starting a family is cloudy at best...maybe non-existent. Again, no comment on the 6 schools in 6 years..and if you say the first didn't count, ok. 5 schools in 5 years -why ?

Soccer Mom, will you be the One, and please tell me what the Democrat's family values are? Hmmmmmm, let's think about this. The Bush family made it's fortunes in what industry? Could it be OIL? Granted, I don't blame GW for oil prices. But I do blame him for not taking action in the first 6 years of his piss-poor terms as president to do something that would avert prices (and unemployment) rising as it has. McCain speaks of bipartisanship, but him, Bush, many republicans and democrats both are guilty of preaching bipartisanship to get elected only to forget it (among many other campaign pledges) after being elected. McCain is running on the same platform as Bush, he'll say what he needs to get elected. Obama will do the same. But, Obama won't be another Bush. Yes, he may end up worse (that'd be a tougher challenge than anything else he'd face), but we all know McCain would follow the same policies as Bush no matter what he's saying to be elected. It's not that I'm against McCain so much as it is that I'm against continuing down the path our country is on. In four years, if I'm wrong, I'll watch the candidates and vote for who I think will take us down a different path than what we are on. At the moment, that's not McCain.

Even after oil companies has bought right to the land In June, the Democrats tried to fine the oil companies if they continued to refuse to drill on the 68 Million acres they already have under lease. The GOP filibustered the bill, just like the oil lobbyists wanted. The oil companies want the oil to stay in the ground until they can get $200 a barrel on the world market, and the GOP was happy to sell you out for all that oil company PAC cash. So now you know which party is keeping gas prices high. Get a clue. Democrats pay for gas too.

You may think it noble to award our top job to a dropout, a fibber and someone who doesn't seem particularly well-read, travelled or brilliant. Being a scrappy spitfire gets you only so far and being "on the bench" at Blair House should not be in the cards. Guess what, its a big room she wants to work for us and we need a DEEP BENCH...because other countries are sending in their All-Stars.

Leno should pay for his advertisement for Obama and cuts on John. It is shameless. Last time John was on his show, People really showed they liked him. In California so less. I think next poll will be John ahead. You head McCain tonight. He will veto bills with pork. And tell the American people the names of those who added the pork
