You are arguing in circles. As far as your child is concerned, you have the same benefits as anyone with a child has.
No, I'm arguing with a moronic bigot.

Children of married same-sex couples do not have the same rights & benefits as children of married opposite-sex couples; at least not yet, but that's coming soon enough. Married same-sex spouses don't have the same right and benefits as maried hetero spouses either, but that too is changing.

That's kinda what all these DOMA lawsuits are about.

And you still can't answer the question-

How does society benefit by banning same-sex couples from marrying, especially those raising children?

Society benefits by providing the legal protections to same-sex families which only marriage can provide.

How does society benefit by banning same-sex couples from marrying, especially those raising children?

Really? Then why did you say:
"Fine, I admit I made a mistake, I misread." when his lie was pointed out to you?
Because I didn't fully investigate what he had said. I'm sure that he was telling the truth, he just didn't explain it properly.
You are not a doctor of medical sciences, you do not know whether what he says is true or not. I don't have the time, nor the motivation to research the topic thoroughly.

They don't benefit by allowing it. You have to give the government something to get something in return. You get benefits for your child.

As long as you're sure he was telling the truth when he said his lesbian daughter knocked herself up. I feel sadness for your parents.

It may not be a requirement of marriage but it is a primary reason why people marry. The government benefits by the creation of families and this is something that gay couples can't do.
no... the government doesn't benefit from people breeding. nobody does.

and no, the primary reason people marry isn't to breed.

You really see no benefit to society by providing the legal protections & benefits of marriage to same-sex families?

So what do childless hetero couples give the govt in return for their benefits? What do sterile hetero couples who adopted kids give the govt in return for their benefits?

No no no, you've got it all wrong, his family only breeds within the family. His children he claims to have had are his children as well as his sister's children.
