Whispers get loud around Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama used to tell voters that America had gotten "downright mean." And that was even before her husband's presidential campaign had to set up a special force to fight criticism, following a barrage ...

She said "I am PROUD of her country". And she explained herself, but its never going to be "good enough" for some.

McCain said 100 YEARS of war, but that was explained away. McCain said bringing home the troops "was not important", buuuuut he's out of context. I watched pundit after pundit let him off the hook last night. But Michelle is the one to scrutinize.

Now that I'm done reading the Obama Tribune, I'll click over to the Obama Sun Times. Then I'll watch MSOBC while I eat breakfast. I'll finish the morning listening ObamaGN (890am) during the commute. Have a blessed Obama day everyone & don't forget to pray for him to recede the flood waters.

Are they sure they want to go there? I don't care much about what the candidates' wives do; they're not running for office. However, if the Republicans choose to go there, I'm sure willing to bet that there are a hell of a lot more skeletons in Cindy McCain's closet than there are in Michelle Obama's.

What a surprise! Dirty politics from the party whose entire platform is devoid of ANYTHING but negativity...oh, and more tax breaks for the rich.

The Republican party is showing itself for what it is: desperate, angry, and completely out of touch with the yearning for change that America desires.

How pathetic- attacking the character of one's wife. What next, are they going to attack his children.

Republicans are the worst sort of people.

John McCain could be placed in a very difficult spot should the Obama people bring up details of John's divorce from his first wife. But then again, if the Republicans want to go there, Obama's people should not hesitate play the game the Republicans initiated.

Obama camp - quit your whining!!!

It comes with the territory. Does Michelle think she should be exempt from criticism of any kind? She should be treated no differently than any other potential first lady. I'm frankly tired of the whining.

She was originally scheduled to be a guest on The View, not a cohost. She then made a stink and told them that since Cindy McCain had been a guest cohost, that is what she wanted also. As a guest she would have had to answer questions, as a cohost, all we get is her face on camera, her asking questions and revealing very little. Too bad,I would have enjoyed seeing that shrieking shrew Elisabeth go after her <g>

I wore a purple tie to work yesterday, what does that mean? What does it mean if I wear a blue one today? Absolutely nothing.

Your bigotry is showing. The Muslim religion is the second largest religion after Christianity. Muslims are all over the world. Their basic core beliefs are like any other.

There are radicals in every religion. I am so tired of people lumping all Muslims into one bag and villifying them because of a few radicals.

And for the ten thousandth time, Obama is a Christian (as though that should matter). His father was African, where there is a large Muslim population. His mother, a white woman, named him. Would some of you move on already.

Let the GOP attack her - why not? They have no other platform to run on and attacking a candidates wife, give me a break! Goes to show how desparate they are.

Commercial break. The GOP does have a platform and issues to address, but for the moment, since there hasn't been a debate yet and we await the Conventions, Michelle is and always will be fair game.

Besides, what it Obama afraid of? "Lay off my wife" Indeed.

Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain need only to learn from the example of Laura Bush as to how a First Lady should function.

You are either well trained or just brainwashed. This is the typical response form blinded Obama f00ls.

You have just done exactly what you claim you don't want done. I say the more you get involved in politics the more you will be looked at. This is the life she can either choose to keep quiet or get in the fight. Each has a consequence.

This article is another entry in the Obama/Media campaign to insulate Michelle from scrutiny. The View? My IQ takes a dip just hearing that show's name. It's a wholly owned Democrat Party venue. What kind of nitwits watch it?

Why have the trib and the rest of the media not told us about the Obama connection to the U of C? How did she get those big jobs and what were her actual duties? Was it a sinecure and quid pro quo? Who provided the start up money for Obama's campaign, before the big fund raising started and why?

Do you think the Trib could ask some questions, huh or is the Trib Corporation to busy trying to con the state and others into buying Wrigley and needs the Democratic establishment to support the deal or allow the field to be sold?

As long as Obama's wife runs her mouth on the campaign trail, whatever rolls out of it is fair game. Just like she is. She can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. I think Harry Truman said that.

As much as I'm glad to see a woman who isn't just a milquetoast wifey-poo, I do think it's better for the spouse of a candidate to shut up. They are not the one running for office. Look, even Bill Clinton, a former President, managed to damage Hillary's campaign. I remember when Kerry's wife criticized Laura Bush as having never worked...bad move and did damage to the campaign.
