Palin: wrong woman, wrong message - Steinem

This isn't the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need. Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere. It's not about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for that. It's about baking a new pie.

Selecting Sarah Palin, who was touted all summer by Rush Limbaugh, is no way to attract most women, including die-hard Clinton supporters. Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton.

I guess gloria hasnt gotten the memo that Sarah speaks for all women and all moms and all conservatives and all republicans. If she had that memo, she would love Sarah like we all are supposed to love her.

Gloria Steinem is irrelevant. She WISHES she was half the woman Sarah Palin is (reference to strength, grace and humility).

If you were watching the same speech as me you'd see not the "wrong woman" but the "strong woman"!

I saw the right wing rock star and the messiah of the reagan republicans. I saw the one whose name should be on top of the ticket instead of McCain. Is that what you saw?

S.P. is Ronald Reagan in a skirt. Remember all those "Reagan Democrats"? They're still out there and the Obama people know it. This is why they're running scared today.

Yep, I agree. Sarah Palin has so much more star power. A true celebrity. She will give Paris Hilton a lot of competition in the run for the White House. Just what the USA needs, right?

um, Sarah does not speak for me. i'm "wife" first then mother (hint). if she "spoke" for me, she wouldn't have allowed the repubs to dictate what she says. i don't attack people to "win" anything. i let my actions speak louder than any words or bark the "pitbull" with lipstick could ever do. for someone "unknown" to common Americans, this was her chance to bring something "new" to the table. the only thing touching i heard is when she mention her child with special needs. everything else was the same sh*t we've been hearing. nothing to help ease the minds of middle class working families.

How is it that this is all about Obama?

This woman is running for Vice President, right?

McCain is running for President along with Obama.

How has this become a challenge between Palin and Obama?

Obama is being truley underestimated.

This woman has a big mouth and is a shit talker, you know where she's coming from, shes' all bark and no bite.

84,000 filled a stadium 38 million more watching. All colors of the rainbow, united.

You catch more flies with honey than vinager.

One of the responsibilities of a Community Organizer is to rally the community together, get them registered to vote, educate them on the voting process, educate them on the candidates and make sure they are at the polls on Nov. 4, 2008. It's actuall hands on experience with the actuall people of communities. The people who are going to determine who actually becomes the next president.

So, on Nov. 4, 2008 we will see just how good this mere Community Organizer is.

I heard someone overheard Obama to say that if Palin was at the top of the ticket, he would concede rather that fight such a huge star that Sarah is. Is there any better reason than for McCain to step aside and let Palin lead the ticket. Palin/McCain sounds pretty good to me. How about you?

Wait until her first unscripted debate on national and international issues with Biden. She will be roadkill. Anyone can give a pre-written speech with rhetoric and lots of platitudes ("I support the troops!" YAY "I hate big government!" YAY "The liberal elite!" YAY)

My guess: she slips back into her rhetoric and platitudes.

"We have to defeat the terrorists!"

Wow, gee, Sarah, really?

Barack Obama vs Sarah Palin

In spite of vile attacks from the Left, Conservatives and Republicans are rallying around John McCain and Sarah Palin. Campaign donations are flooding in and workers are volunteering faster than they can be put to work. The attacks on Sarah Palin are now being fought from the top of the campaign to the smallest neighborhood in America. In short: This has become a fight between Obama and Palin, rather than Obama and McCain.

Pundits are comparing Barack Obama's experience, history, pastors, morals, family ... to those of Sarah Palin. Obama comes up wanting in each and every category. Are people excited to hear Obama speeches any more? Not like in the beginning. Are people excited about hearing John McCain's speech Thursday night? Not so much. BUT, Sarah Palin's speech, that's a different story. EVERYBODY wants to hear what she has to say.

In four years Palin will be living in Arizona having been indicted in Alaska and forced to leave the state. Her wacky seperatist husband will be living in a cabin somewhere and her daughter will have had her second child. Different babydaddy.
