Targeting Eric Holder, Darrell Issa buys into gun nut delusions

Jun 22, 2012 | Posted by: Mr_Bill | Full story: www.latimes.com

The brouhaha over Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. and the contempt of Congress charge brought by U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista) are providing new evidence that the lunatics are running the Republican asylum.

Issa, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, would have us believe President Obama’s assertion of executive privilege in the dispute -- “an eleventh-hour stunt,” he called it on Fox News -- is part of a White House cover up of something much more sinister.

Holder is a self-made target. The black panthers can intimidate voters, as long as they don't need an ID to vote. He can illegally send guns to Mexico, but it is asking too much to keep track of them. He, and he alone, can interpret the US Constitution. Because he is an appointed position, he answers to no one. He is already a liability to Obama, he should be gone just before the election, you know, as sign Obama disagrees with his own policies.

Evidence is mounting against the shoulder borne parrot as we speak. The red diaper baby signed an executive order to cover holders a$$, but by doing so, baby snooks has implicated himself by hiding those documents in question. Now, you have the keystone cops (the complicit media) trying to throw a life preserver to these phony crooks. The dumbed down liberal electorate don't know that congress provides oversight of the executive branch for any questionable shenanigans afoot.

The LA Times sez??? <LOL> Both the LAT & NYT are breathing heavily because of lost revenue - the NYT was saved from bankruptcy by a Mexican billionaire - the LAT is facing the same prospects down line. The reason -- people can't trust or rely on a Pravda type media for perspicuous truth....

It isn't democrats of today that said the "buck stops here." It was Harry S. Truman that coined that phrase during his tenure as president. I might add he was one of the very last democrats that displayed Integrity, honesty and honor.....

If they were not running fast and furious then there would be no privileged information for Obama to exert Executive Privilege over. When they want to distance themselves as being gun runners it is a local operation but when congress wants to know what is going on it is a high level executive operation over which he can exert executive privilege.

Why are Righties such morons? Do you not grasp the idea that there are internal documents involving the investigation into Fast and Furious that aren't for public consumption via anti-American, anti-Administration, agenda-driven partisan reTHUGlicans? Seriously, how hard is this?

I'm sure Obama knows about the documents after having been briefed on the reTHUGlican attempts to seize and exploit them. Doesn't mean he was involved all along, obviously. He doesn't personally oversee every operation of government.

A couple of noisy nuts claiming to be 'New Black Panthers' make some noise in a Philly precinct, and the Right whips up a storm of frenzied anti-black, anti-Holder sentiment. No one takes that nonsense seriously.

Nor was Holder "illegally sending guns to Mexico." A program run out of the Arizona office was letting guns 'walk back' into the hands of Mexican drug lords as a way of trying to trace their activities. It was a failure and lost a whole bunch of guns that should have been seized. The Rightedia whips this into some sort of 'scandal' and uses it to attack Holder and, now, Obama.

Righties want to use Holder to damage Obama. This isn't rocket science, but then, you aren't a rocket scientist either, are you?:)

Problem is that Obama did not with hold the documents because there was investigative information that was not for public consumption. Congress and the DOJ has ways of dealing with that via redaction and closed testimony. The reason he sited was Executive Privilege, it is to protect privileged information which is "Presidential material", it protects high level talks of the administration requiring the congress or a prosecutor to make a "sufficient showing" that the "Presidential material" is "essential to the justice of what ever the case may be. If it is presidential material then the administration knew about the operation and lied when they said they did not, if it is not presidential material then it is an abuse of office to claim it is.

What will happen is that Obama will not want to be the one to have the courts deal with this abuse of office and will later give up the information voluntarily.

This is what the shouting match was about the other week that the press was asking about between Holder and Axlerod. In the meeting the attorney general told the president he could just claim executive privilege and keep him from getting in trouble over what he told congress, Axlerod did not want Holder dragging Obama into the middle of Fast and Furious.

If this were a republician administration all the papers would have this front page but they are in damage control mode for Obama.

Obama and his lackeys think nothing of giving details of the bin Laden assassination to Hollywood to use in a movie
OR
sending the NY Times details of Obama's personal involvement in sending aircraft crashing into businesses in the Middle East, killing innocent civilians as well as targeted individuals
OR
leaking classified information about US cyber warfare methods.

BUT

Letting elected Representatives of American citizens know what their Government is doing across the Mexican border is somehow something worth keeping secret.
