<quoted text>But what the Supreme Court upheld is that everyone has to take responsibility for buying health insurance. Everyone uses health insurance so the court said everyone has to buy it. I guess they could mandate everyone to buy food too because it is a necessity for human survival too. But, people love to eat, whereas most people are used to getting health insurance either through their employer or through the government. Only about ten percent of people buy health insurance, probably all business owners. So this shifts the burden onto everyone to have to get health insurance. This really takes on the obesity epidemic, and that's a good thing. I don't know about you, but I am sick to death of being attacked by women cause I am a thin woman. This stuff is ten years overdue. I have yet to see one fat woman get thin just by being cruel to me. Doesn't work very well, maybe them having to buy health insurance will work better than them bulling thin women. Just a suggestion.
Your rationalization of this ruling by your experience is short sighted and rather odd.

This bill intrudes into people's lives and personal beliefs, was passed by lies and deception and without regard to the effect on the economy.

Yep - I am wondering how they're going to collect that penalty from illegals who they don't want to even keep track of.
Perhaps the answer for legal citizens who work for their food and lodging is to become "illegal". Then everything's free without any penalties. You would not believe the number of persons who have told my mother to "spend down" and let the gov. cover her lodging, food, and medical costs. She lives on a very small SS -the result of over 60 years of saving and paying taxes. She will do without before taking money from a small family struggling to keep their home and feed their kids. Do citizens no longer have pride? Can no longer plan ahead nor save for a rainy day? nor practice delayed gratification?

Seriously, folks, do you not understand where all the "free" stuff comes from?-- workers who pay taxes - not the "poor"; not the "rich".

OBTW, if they will lie about this "transparent" mandate, uh i mean tax, what else do you realize is a lie or group of lies?

When you realize the only goal is: re-election, re-election, re-election, at any cost, and any truth - well truth given to the current audience and changed for the next one.

If you pay any taxes other than for the big gulp (soon to be less than 16 oz) at the local conv.- YOU pay.

The "government" is out of money and living on credit from other nations and our children. Who could have believed this scenario would ever be true in a fee country? the borrow, borrow more, exempt those who payed for my time in office, borrow more, I'll be out of office before the bill comes due.

Will Governor Romney suspend his campaign and accept that America is only Obama Nation now? The die is cast and nothing can stop Obama now.
This is no victory for Obama

it means anyone who hates obamacare will still have to vote against him in november

he's finished, this was the last nail in his political coffin

You think massive takeover of the medical profession and a soon to be bankrupt gigantic government program are a strong campaign issue for obama?

CBO has released their report regarding long term cost savings withhe individual mandate;

"CBO told lawmakers that the health package would cost $940 billion over the next decade, reducing the deficit by $130 billion. It will reduce the deficit by $1.2 trillion in the second decade of the plan's implementation, according to those who have seen the score."

In other words SFB's, you SHOULD have car insurance. Most states mandate you have insurance on your vehicle - if not, your license can be revoked.
Gawd, you're a dumb hick!
He was making a joke. He is saying - we have to buy health insurance now, we should, we have had to buy car insurance for a long time, so what else is new?

Legal and become illegal. Good Idea. I will run across the border in AZ, denounce my citizenship and then run back into the US. Excellent!!!

The largest tax in the history of the world will now be paid by the poor who can barely buy food, let alone health insurance. Nice job Obama / SCOTUS.

Just a thought but what is the incentive to become a doctor now? Huge student loans, care and fees to be dictated by a washington bureaucracy, class warfare to tax the rich. Little return for such a large outlay

They don't have insurance and what they do is they hit you on purpose with their car and then sue you. I've had Mexican guys tell me they have done that. And, if they are illegal, they do not have to buy health insurance. Makes the case for an amnesty so that they have to buy health insurance, but, they traditionally have very large families they cannot afford to support, so no matter you make them citizens, they ALL have 5-10 kids, so they all are eligible for welfare and free health care no matter what. Don't you love diversity?? We are all the same, we are all as one. Yeah right.

This is one of the problems with this stuff. A student can go to law school and then make as much as $1,500 an hour. Doctors only make like $200,000 and now with Obamacare the government shoves millions more people onto Medicaid and the government sets how much the doctors will get for both Medicaid and Medicare patients, so doctors won't make very much money. And, a lot of them will probably quit at the same time that 80 million baby boomers are going onto Medicare. So something has got to give. They won't have doctors available to see anyone. I guess rich people with expensive health care plans will be the only ones who will be able to see a doctor.

Of course the average American understands fully
that Drs in the USA can opt out of Gov run programs
and go private practice only? Which is exactly what
took place in Europe!! But then, the likelihood of the average American cracking open a book,or checking out just how the Euro Nations collapsed
is pretty remote folks..LOL..RE..

Well first of all i work for a small company and our insurance has skyrocketed the last few years becasue of this, my wife works at walmart and their insurance went up three times what it was before obamacare, and we will see if anything gets capped, we all know, that ANYTIME you REQUIRE anything that costs go up up up and im sure this will be no different. Its not taking the responsibility off of small businesses either, it is requiring them to have insurance for there employees or pay a penalty. Or as they put it another TAX. The worse thing about it is how you slowly have seen the last 3+ years, the government taking more and more control of our lives telling us what we can and cant do, this is not waht america is suppose to be about, have you ever read the constitution? Obama must go and must go soon
employers with less than 100 employees will not be penalized.
.
Walmart is a BILLION dollar company, and yet the majority of their employees are covered by the state because they don't make enough to purchase their own, and walmart keeps them part-time so that they dont qualify for corporate coverage.
.
the LAW states that the insurance company must reimburse the consumer (you) directly if you paid more than 8% of your AGI.
.
(pay attention)

Well at least we agree on something Pammy. Except for one item in this post anyway. As of today, there is no such thing as "Free Health Care"....at least according to SCOTUS.

I can't wait to see how they plan to extort penalty money from people who don't have any money.

If The Great Reckoning comes in November, we won't have to worry about that anymore.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Gemini

Beware wishful thinking because it will cloud your thoughts and lead to confusion. However, that's much easier said than done, because today you're showing distinct tendencies towards living in a rosy world of your own and ignoring any hard facts that are under your nose. Take care that you don't allow someone to dupe you simply because you aren't paying attention to what they're saying or doing.
