Former AG Urges Immigration Reform

I feel that those immigrants that have come to the US illegally that have proven that they are fluent with our language and customs and shown that they have a high work ethic, need to be afforded the right to be given a chance for reform.

We all are descendants from immigrants unless our families were native americans. So where would we be if our fore fathers were denied entry.

Do people know the amount of money that Brazilians alone spend in the US, it's millions each year!

Let's see what comes out of this if the US passes reform and puts a fee of $1000+ on the requirements for those who meet the criteria then maybe this country can start bailing itself out .

Didn't Gonzales that la raza supporting fool have to resign because he was so incompetent? More support from the la raza Klan. It's been said before. Blood before country as they support their ilk, no matter how it effects the country. Yep, let's turn the U.S. into a Hispanic country like those to the south of us, so we will feel more at home.. To hell with that!! This is exactly why I will not vote for any Hispanic!

What's to reform? Enforce the laws and seal the border. I am sick to death of hearing how we should just forgive illegals of their lying, cheating and stealing. No, make them give up all their ill-gotten assets and start from scratch if they want to be given a free pass. We'll see how many really want to be here legally then.

What are you an observer of? Sure you're not an observer of U.S. History otherwise you would know that before the illegal alien invasion, American's did all of these jobs. Hell, along time ago when I was younger and uneducated, I used to work on a trash truck picking up other peoples trash. My late Uncle in Nebraska used to work in a slaughter house, my high school classmates used to work in the fast food restaurants, so please stop with the sob stories about the illegal alien invaders doing the jobs that Americans won't do, because we've done them all. They put themselves in this situation, so let them deal with the consequences. I have NO sympathy for the 3rd world parasite invaders... If they were in their own country I would continue to send money through Red Cross and UNICEF..

Historically the US economy has always been best at times of least immigration and high at times just prior to a collapse. When immigration peaks the economy always collapses. The problem is that since this recession started immigration rates have not sharply declined as they have during previous recessions/depressions indicating that this recession will last much longer than previous. I do have to agree that we have a double moral standard. If you come here illegally you are given everything and have very little to worry when it comes to being deported. If you come here legally you risk deportation everyday and you get nothing from the government. Legal students pay full tuition and illegal students get a break. If a person is here on a student visa is caught working they are deported but an illegal alien working is ignored.

Gonzales is a POS! The thought of giving ID cards for illegals to vote is tresonist! The two parties are scared to say how immigration reform should be because they are afraid of alienation of some hispanic voters. The hyfanated ones. The ones that are not true Americans! True comprehesive immigration reform should be to send all illegals back to their respective countries! Fullfill all immigration requirements and get in the back of the line behind the law abiding people already waiting! Give them a timeline and if they have not left by the appointed timeline their assets should be seized and they should be immediatly deported with no chance ever of legal immigration.

Pamela,I totally agree with most of what you've posted. Although I do not agree that it's a done deal yet. Hispanics are now 14% of the population and that includes the illegals. With a CNN poll admitting the 75% of Americans support AZ and AL, to me that speaks loud and clear, the politicians can not ignore those numbers. I am a proud member of FAIR and NumbersUSA, and though we live in California. I am NOT giving up the battle for our country and watch it get completely submerged into the 3rd world cesspool. We have more power than people think. Had it not been for US, the DREAMACT would have passed, instead it was defeated again and the same with the amnesty that W., Ted Kennedy and Juan McCain tried to shove down our throats. WE are not dead and cooked yet. I will never yelled to the open border, la raza supporting liberals or the 3rd world parasites, no matter what!!!

You could be right. I hope so. I heard that many Mexicans are returning to Mexico due to our economy being in recession. So that is a good start. Yes, had we not all complained so much when Bush was going to do an amnesty, he would have passed it. It was Lou Dobbs who was on CNN at the time who let everyone know about it, and people contracted their reps and were mad as heck about it and that's why it was stopped. You are right, we have to be the ones to stop an amnesty. I was just reading a book by a former CIA guy, "Marching Into Hell" and he talks about how we are sold that diversity is so great and he says those people from Mexico and So. America are uncivilized dumbed down thugs who do honor killings yet we are told that we are all exactly the same. It's not true. Now it comes out that the Mexican kids are dropping out of high school at four times the rate of white students, 50 percent of Hispanic women are now having kids out of wedlock to get onto welfare. The Hispanics live similar to the black community, welfare, gangs, high school dropouts. That's will cost us trillions of dollars and be the downfall of the country.

My concern is that our immigration laws say that the kids of the illegals who are born here are legal and that when they turn 18, which many are now, then they can bring their whole families here. That's what I am worried about.

First of all...the term "native" means born of a particular place...so we AMERICANS who were born in AMERICA to parents who were LEGAL CITIZENS of AMERICA are in fact NATIVE. Since YOU think those who came here ILLEGALLY but have a high work ethic should be allowed to stay I wonder if I broke into your home or stole your car but had a high work ethic would you let me stay in your home or allow me to keep your car? I prefer people come here LEGALLY. I want people to become citizens if they have enough respect for my nation to come here the right way.Abiding by our laws is the "ethic" I prefer in an immigrant. My great grandparents were LEGALLY ADMITTED TO AMERICA.That means my grandparents,parents and myself are the descendants of LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Point well taken! yourself and the few you knew has probably moved on to better things and so does every one else, it would be naive to think others should take up the jobs you used to do when in reality today every ambitious American wants to climb the ladder and reach higher goals for themselves and their children and that is what is drawing illegal immigrants here because it is their way of moving up the ladder taking it up from where you left off.
