I've got no idea either. I could make guesses, but I don't know. It's just an interesting observation as you said.

It's a very nasty power trip to give such a kiss not only in front of her husband, but also on national television.
I notice that after Obama's acceptance speech Jill Biden put her husband between Obama and herself. I felt that she looked guarded.
As someone else pointed out Obama is lucky that she didn't slap him. I'm sure Sarah Palin would have.
Palin would never let Obama get within 10 feet of her.

Yes, CEO pay 30 years ago was 10 times the average worker's pay. Today it is 344 times average worker's pay.

This at a time when the average worker is getting less pay, less healthcare, and less in pensions. And a lot of jobs are going overseas.

No, I know that most of us were worried that he would pick some hack like Biden. If he had picked Lieberman we would have all had to take barf bags to the polls, or not go at all. Romney was at best a safe pick, but not inspiring. Kay Bailey Hutchison was interesting but another darn senator. To inspire the base, Palin, Pence, Jindal, or Powell were the best choices.
I have not been this excited about a ticket since Reagan, and I am more excited about Palin than I am McCain, but as a team they are truly inspiring. When compared to the Obama/Biden ticket it will finally get the base fired up to go make calls, take out signs, and do the work of the election. Until yesterday we were all about defeating Obama, now we are actually excited about putting our team in place, that is a huge difference.
You're putting the horse before the carriage...but probably a little late. I'm sure Obama/Biden are already one step ahead of you there, too.

Obama may make one move forward, but it seems everytime Obama make's a move McCain is wRIGHT there, jumps the pawn (Obama) and ends up with checkmate.....game over...
Obama is finished, done, over, nada, zip, zilch
SEEEEEEYA!!!!!You gotta give the ole man some credit, he keeps slamming the door in Obamas face.
Is anybody talkin' bout Obamas acceptance speech?
The ole man closed the door on that....McCains a sly old bastard, can't wait for the debates to begin.....

It only works if you put the horse before the carriage, horses pull they don't push. ObamaBidenLadin have already lost the election, we just need to see how bad. I bet that they even lose Illinois.

But Palin has ZERO foreign policy experience. Joe Biden is chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Which of THEM do we want a heartbeat away from the Presidency??? I think that is a clear answer, and it isn't the lady from Alaska.

Executive experience? Running a town a tenth the size of the one I live in? Or a year and a half as governor of Alaska? Be serious, Oriana, that is a stretch even for you. If McCain is elected, she would be a heartbeat away from the presidency, and she has ZERO foreign policy experience. NONE. You think Obama doesn't have enough, but he has more than she does.
This looks like either no one else wanted to run with him, or he was dying to get someone to make the Radical Right happy. Since Rush wet his diaper at the announcement, I think that part worked anyway.
I repeat, Biden will smoke her on foreign policy at the debate.

McCain has been chairmen of committees.

McCain was a Naval commander

True, Obama has never been mayor of a town of 6700. Neither has McCain. And isn't Palin the subject herself of an ethics investigation?

Did you see where Governor Palin endorsed Senator Obama's energy policy??? I bet that McCain never asked her about that in their ONE meeting. Here is the full article, from the offical Alaska Governor's web site:
==========
August 4, 2008, Fairbanks, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin today responded to the energy plan put forward by the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

“I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaska’s natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs,” Governor Palin said.“The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs.”

In a speech given in Lansing, Michigan, Senator Obama called for the completion of the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stating,“Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production. And we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas and creating good jobs in the process.”

Governor Palin also acknowledged the Senator’s proposal to offer $1,000 rebates to those struggling with the high cost of energy.

“We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home,” Governor Palin said.“This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board.”

The Governor did question the means to pay for Obama’s proposed rebate — a windfall profits tax on oil companies. In Alaska, the state’s resource valuation system, ACES, provides strong incentives for companies to re-invest their profits in new production.

“Windfall profits taxes alone prevent additional investment in domestic production. Without new supplies from American reserves, our dependency and addiction to foreign sources of oil will continue,” Governor Palin said.

No foreign policy experience? Here is the link to Senate Bill 1977, the Nuclear Weapons Threat Reduction Act of 2007, sponsored by Senator Obama: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd...

And ask Republican Senator Dick Lugar of Indiana about Senator Obama's work with him on nuclear non-proliferation. And this from Senator Lugar's own Senate web site:

Thursday, June 28, 2007

WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and Richard Lugar (R-IN) today announced that the Senate Appropriations Committee accepted their request to provide funding to implement the Lugar-Obama nonproliferation initiative. The Appropriations Committee expressed support for the initiative and provided $48 million for Lugar-Obama,$36 million for programs to destroy heavy conventional weapons,$10 million for efforts to intercept weapons and materials of mass destruction, and $2 million for rapid response to proliferation detection and interdiction emergencies. This is the culmination of an 18 month effort to authorize and fund the Lugar-Obama initiative.

http://lugar.senate.gov/press/record.cfm...

What does Sarah Palin know about ANY of this? Nothing. Zero. Nada. Barack Obama has worked with a leading, and VERY senior Republican Senator (from my home state) on this issue which is so important for the whole world.

I think VP Sara will, if she can ride with the old man into national office, puts the fear of God into a business as usual Washington. The change will be internal, and from all corners.
The back room barons will feel the heat. I bet she interviewed McCain for the job.
This is worth watching.

So true! But I've been smiling since the selection. It's a good day for Obama. I LOVE McCain's selection. It highlights his lack of judgement, his Superman complex (far be it from a 4x cancer survivor to think of his own mortality), and his desire to NOT work with an equal and collaborate...but rather be the captain of the ship with no co-pilot. He couldn't have picked a nicer or less qualified VP.

I for one....LOVE IT!!!!!

Oh my...this day keeps getting better. What in the hell in her resume makes you think that she's going to impact "business as usual" in Washington! That is laughable.

She's the weakest VP candidate since Dan Quale. Where is he anyway?????
