Exactly. So many of these "right to life" nuts care so deeply and intensely about every poor innocent little embryo, but once that newborn baby gets his slap on the ass, they suddenly couldn't give a crap about it any longer.

Right now over half a million children are in foster care in the US, waiting for someone who cares enough about them as people as cared about them as fetuses.

I don't think so. As logn as there are 'true believers', there will be people there to exploit their innocense.

To me, the existence of Dobsons and Parsleys is evidence enough of the nonexistence of god.

As near as I can tell, I'm the only person in this discussion who's actually had any dealings with Mr. Dobson and I can tell you that he doesn't live up to the image his publicist has crafted for him.

Like Robertson, the late Falwell and many other so called christian "leaders" this guy is part of a racist organization to which many non thinking black people give inordinate sums of money and far too much attention. Just a look at the leadership panels of these so called christian organizations and many of their highly adjustible policies would reveal little difference to openly racist conglomerates such as the kkk and white citizens council. Not unlike big named religious organizations in this country Dobson's racist ideology is welded to a disparaging policy towards women. These kinds of groups need to be ignored and disassembled if we are to move forward with an acknowledged interdependence void of the artificial divisions inserted by overemphasized barriers of ethnicity, religion and country of origin.

It comes down to what are "your" passions, issues. Are you young or are you old. What do you want to see done in this country,(like a president is really going to change anything). I'm entering retirement years so what would my passion be. I will soon be out of the workforce. I've always been conservative. This will be a tough election. McCain was not my first choice but what are we going to do. Obama just can't win. He doesn't have what it takes if this country gets attacked again. We can't take the chance of our taxes being increased. I don't know about you but I'm taxed out. I just want to retire and travel, play golf, or just scratch my %#@*!. It's going to be another close election.
