Dobson Flip: Considers Endorsing McCain

James Dobson couldn't get a conservative to his liking the Republican nomination. He could not get it done. So he threw a tantrum like the strong willed child in his books.

Now he realizes that his seat at the GOP children's table of power depends on being a good boy and behaving for four months while Mr McCain attempts to run a Presidential campaign.

Dobson doesn't want to spend the next four years in a political time out, so he's going to do as he's told until that icky Mr McCain goes away.

I think I know how he feels. It's all relative.. Compared to an Arrogant, anti-American Snake-oil Imposter.. Obammesiah makes McCain look better and more presidential everyday..

While I also oppose abortion, these guys need to be careful. I have been reading about Evangelical contributions to human rights in general and civil rights in the United States. For example, I have found the Baptists' history so sordid and malicious in respect to civil rights from 1875 to 1975 that I consider there influence at least as harmful as more liberal abortion laws.

Dobson's endorsement will ensure McCain in the White House. the vast fundamentalist Xtian right votes at least once.

If Jesus was a conservative , He would have talked "tythe-cuts" for the wealthy.
The carpentry work would have been done by illegal imigrants and His clothes would have been made in another country useing slave labor.

I think He would vote for CHANGE, just like the rest of His friends and followers.

I would like to know what Dr. Dobson is thinking. I've always respected his opinion until now.
Perhaps there is something he knows, we don't?
Perhaps there is something WE know, that HE doesn't?

In theory religious leaders are not supposed to endorse certain candidates. For one, it skirts the line between religion and state, two if that leader is well respected; his disciples are likely to follow suit. If it's the WRONG guy; need I say more? And last, if this IS the wrong guy; how can Dr. Dobson's integrity hold otherwise?

I respect the man. But I must go on what I know. And my integrity will not allow me to vote for McCain.

I really would like to his Dr. Dobson's UNGUARDED opinion.

I think the reasons Dr. Dobson gave for considering McCain were reasonable and right; I just think they were a bit narrow in their scope.

Maybe he doesn't think one of the independent candidates even has a snowball's chance and although we may not LIKE the system; it is there and we must play within it. Maybe that's it.

I'm sorry. I think you are wrong. That man has done more to HELP the American family than any other preacher out there perhaps because he also has the worldly credentials of being a pediatrician and a psychologist. And he CERTAINLY has helped those Christians out there who have READ his books and applied their advice.

It's easy to throw insults without giving a reason and expect people to believe he is suspect simply because one accuser says so.

As for "filling his coffers", I don't think you know as much about the man as you think you do. He is not ONLY a doctor, but an author and a man who stands for what he believes in, which is a RARE thing these days. Can YOU say the same?

He doesn't NEED to "fill his coffers". He's a doctor and does fine. So what's your REAL beef; did your mama use his methods and they offended you?

Typical misuse of scripture. This addressed a SPECIFIC event in time and was not meant as "prophesy" for latter times. I suppose NOW you are going to say there's going to be an earthquake two years from now. 50/50 you're right. 50/50 you're wrong.
