Todd Akina s "Legitimate Rape" Comment Sheds Light on Paul Ryana s Extreme Stance on Abortion

Aug 21, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Democracy Now

Republicans are mounting increasing pressure on Missouri Rep. Todd Akin to end his bid to unseat Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill after he claimed that women's bodies can prevent pregnancies in cases of what he called "legitimate rape," a comment he later apologized for.

What next? Is he going to refer to Sandusky's victims as "sandusky skid marks"? Or rape victims as "skid marks"?......

LOL There is a whole world of difference between not wanting taxpayers money to pay for abortion and the extremely strange notion of Mr. Akin that a woman being raped turns on some "thing" that keeps her from getting pregnant. Absolute hogwash from Mr. Akin. Personally, I am all for abortion if you are raped. But, if you report the rape immediately you won't need an abortion but will be able to take the "Morning after pill" that would PREVENT conception. That would be more to my liking.

Has anyone noticed that this is the exact opposite of what democrats do when one of theirs screws up? Here the Republicans are, defunding the guy, demanding he stepdown, doing everything they can to make him disappear. What do the demcrats do? Remember Clinton and his rape charge. How about Weiner? Any time any of theirs does something illegal or stupid they all gather round and do everything they can to protect the miscreant, no matter how vile or repulsive.

Horseshit, sleazeball. Akin's views have everything to do with Ryan's views. They are two peas in a single clown suit.

Hey Pissbrain,

Let's review Abortion stances by the nutball akin and the Scumbag Obama:

- akin said a woman's body could stop gestation and he's against abortion although stating it's the legal law of the land.

- jackass (obama) says that Any baby that dared survive an abortion attempt should be killed off or left to die without even the most basic of comforting first aid! Something any normal person would administer to a puppy in the same state!

- OUCH!-

Obama is PURE FILTH.
Akin is a bonehead.

they wrote a bill together regarding abortion, which described "legitimate rape"
.
and......, Akin said that his views are exactly those of Ryan's.
.
.
Ryan is now trying to distance himself from Akin, but at this point it'll be near impossible.

When asked if Akins should step down, Romney would have been better off saying "I'll wait to hear what my VP and Party Leaders think before I give a solid answer".

Instead, he gave another "walk the fence, don't answer" answer.

I don't disagree, but you must be aware that Ryan's stance on abortion includes banning most forms of birth control, including the morning after pill.
in fact, Ryan also thinks that in-vitro fertilization should be against the law.

(I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but when you compare his stance on social issues to those of the current republican candidates, it's kind of hard to not choose Obama. from a social issue standpoint)

So if Mitt believes in 'Personhood' claims by the far right, that right at conception, a woman's egg is not a full blown person....then how can Mitt also claim that he's okay with abortion in cases of rape?

Is it 'murder' when the pregnancy is aborted, but it's not 'murder' when the pregnancy is aborted because the pregnancy was caused by "force-able" rape?

LOL

Yeah, I'd like to see him call others "murderers" but he isn't.

And what the heck is "force-able" rape. Is there rape that isn't forced?
