tnr That is true. The slaves in the South were generally more happy and better off than in the North. They looked at the Union Army as invaders of their home. In fact, many blacks fought on the side of the South against the Union Army to save their homes. The blacks who fought for the Union Army were often blacks who were captured and forced to fight.
