A very inspiring speech. It is refreshing to hear a candidate who can inspire. We understand that it is probably not possible to accomplish all the challenges that Obama outlined, but it is good to have hope once again....

It was the same old tired socialist speech based on dividing class from class. Empty promises based on income distribution to pay the bill.

My number One Son, who is very non-political had this to say about Obama after watching his speech. "They always say that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true. That explains Obama to a tee." I tend to agree.

Obama: Socialism & Radical Islam

At what point does someone step back and look at what we might be getting into. After Obama's speech, it was apparent to me that he has one of the more Socialistic mind sets.

Obama says he had to work hard to get where he is at... probably so, but he wants to create a government of WELFARE BABIES. So you don't have to work hard to get something out of life, the GOVERNMENT will help you and provide for you the things he didn't have. What is that? Socialism or Communism. What ever it is, it helps spawn RADICAL ISLAM.

Search Google for Radical Islam and Socialism. You will find that a majority of Western European countries are struggling with in influx of Muslim and Radical Islam, because the government provides them with services; i.e. Housing, health care, pay subsidies, and more....

So I ask; Is America ready for Obama and Socialism? I'm not and I don't want anything from the government but security.

That's so true, besides they all promise the world to you when campaigning but when they get in, it's a total differnt story simply cause they aren't the only ones to make the decisions. They may want to fix everything but Washington just does not work that way. I wish it were different but it's just a true and simple fact of life!
If our congress would work together for the good of the people instead of fighting each other all the time maybe Washington could accomplish something, but as things are, nothing gets accomplished, it's a big power play between the two parties and that's it! Unfortunately I don't see that changing anytime soon either.

As if we don't already have a HUGE debt already with the tax breaks to the more fortunate... It is obvious that the neocon mantra has left us in a deep defecate.

If something isn't working, it is time to try something else. After all those horrid liberals balanced the budget and even showed a surplus during Clinton's eight years.

You are just afraid that you will have to pay your share.... It should be obvious that the money is floating to the top and the majority of Americans are feeling the pinch. Admit it!

The most prosperous times for the majority of Americans was during the time when the labor unions were strong enabling the majority of people to participate in the American dream. And many of the families only had one bread winner.

If you wish to buy into the trickle down lie, I suppose that is your privilege. All you need to do is to study history. It didn't work when Andrew Mellon (not an economist) first propagandized it and it has never worked since, except for those who get the float.

Enthusiastically promoting its famous change rhetoric, Barack Obama’s campaign fails to mention that his new running mate’s top advisor and fundraiser pleaded guilty to participating in a kickback scheme with a major Obama donor recently convicted of 16 felonies.

This rather convoluted story illustrates that, along with foreign policy experience, Delaware Senator Joe Biden also brings solid political corruption credentials to Obama’s presidential campaign. This, in turn, contradicts the Illinois senator’s trademark change message as well as his squeaky-clean image as a Washington outsider.

A major news agency points out that the vice presidential candidate’s longtime advisor and campaign fundraiser, Chicago attorney Joseph Cari, was indicted in 2005 for helping the convicted Syrian fundraiser (Antoin Rezko) who bankrolled Obama’s political career operate a massive kickback scheme.

Rezko, who has known Obama for years and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the senator, was convicted of 16 corruption-related felony charges earlier this year for plotting to squeeze millions of dollars in kickbacks out of investment firms seeking state business. Prosecutors say Rezko also provided hefty donations to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich in exchange for appointments to state boards and commissions.

Senator Biden’s confidante actually testified at Rezko’s federal trial after cutting a deal with prosecutors to cooperate with the government’s investigation. As part of the agreement, Cari pleaded guilty to extortion and his sentence is still pending.

For decades Cari, a prominent figure in the Democratic Party, has served as one of Biden’s top Senate advisors and fundraisers and the men consider each other good friends. Cari has also advised or raised cash for other Democratic presidential candidates, including Jimmy Carter in 1980 and John Kerry in 2004.

His deep involvement with Rezko is scandalous for the Democratic Party in general and especially damaging for the new vice presidential candidate. No wonder the Obama camp omitted the crucial information when touting Biden as a foreign policy expert whose heart and values are firmly rooted in the middle class.

I think I heard something like that when Clinton ran. The stock market was going to tank and the country was going down the tube.

When that proved to be totally false the tune was changed to, he was riding on Reagan's legacy. Give me a break. He was a moderate that held the neocon radicals in check and the country was fiscally sound.

There are more than one extreme in this country and the other extreme is the radical right wing.

Barack Obama has ad mitted it was "boneheaded" to get involved in a land deal with Tony Rezko, his friend and fund-raiser. But the media's focus on that deal has distracted from the bigger question: Why would Obama become involved in any deal with a man like Rezko, who made his living sponging off taxpayers and corrupting public officials? Because, by the time of the deal, the two already had a long relationship of mutual benefit.

The deal's details are well-known: On June 15, 2005, Obama bought a gorgeous house in Hyde Park for $1.65 million -$300,000 below the list price. Rezko bought the empty but attractive lot next door from the same seller at the same time; Obama would later buy part of Rezko's lot, overpaying him.

The transaction was shady, but not obviously corrupt. The overall Obama-Rezko relationship looks worse.

After Rezko's 2006 indictment on unrelated federal corruption charges, Obama denied unequivocally that he'd ever helped the man: "I've never done any favors for him."

That's simply false. Rezko was a genius of corporate welfare who enriched himself at taxpayers' expense, both legally and illegally, via his multiple political connections. Yes, he went to others for the illegal deals that landed him in prison. But Rezko depended on Obama when he wanted legal access to the state treasury. The arrangement was a far cry from Obama's image of "change and hope."

It's impossible to know Obama's motives. But several of his official acts benefited Rezko, who in turn raised some $250,000 for Obama's campaigns.

In October 1998, Obama wrote city and state officials, urging them to give Rezko $14 million to build an apartment complex outside of Obama's state Senate district. The Chicago Sun-Times noted last year that Obama's request included $855,000 in "development fees" for Rezko and for another developer, Allison Davis, who happened to be Obama's old law-firm boss. Obama's spokesman said it was just a coincidence that the state senator wrote letters to obtain millions of dollars for his two longtime friends.

In fact, Obama was a dependable ally of subsidized developers in the Legislature, giving Rezko and others broader help as well. In "The Case Against Barack Obama," I identify and parse six housing bills with which Obama was closely involved. A few examples:

* In 2001, Obama cosponsored a bill allowing developers to sell state tax credits to others and pocket half of the proceeds.

It doesn’t happen often, but it’s about to happen in 2008. A convicted fixer is about to have two of his boys as the official nominees of the democratic party.

Who might those two be? Why, Obama and Biden of course.

In today’s Chicago Sun-Times it is indicated that Biden’s Midwest Campaign manager in the 1988 presidential primary, a guy who also maintained ties with Biden in the early part of his 2008 run, is a key figure in the Tony Rezko trialk. We are referring to none other than Joseph Cari.

Cari pled guilty to a federal extortion charge this year, and like his “mentor”, Tony Rezko is currently awaiting sentencing.

At this point in time, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Obama’s “Change” mantra is as grounded in reality as finding a leperchaun at the end of the rainbow.

Just in case you missed all the above, here’s a summarized version: Obama has a convicted fixer (Rezko) raising money for him throughout most (if not all) of his political career, Biden on his own part has an admitted and convicted extortionist running part of his 1988 campaign, and advising him on this one.

Only the delegates can save the Democratic Party from this spectacle in Denver, we PUMAs hope they vote based in their conscience and not the effects of Obama’s Rezko tainted Kool-Aid…
