"I Believe" License Plates May Never "See the Light of Day"

In May, the South Carolina state legislature unanimously voted to endorse an "I Believe" license plate, bearing the image of a cross and a stained glass window. Governor Mark Sanford then allowed the bill to become law --- without his signature.

I agree. There's a place for religion and it's not on the ass-end of a Pinto.

Well Since you 2 do not live in SC it does not matter what you believe. If the Atheist do not want to see the plate then do not look at it.
Also the leftwing wackjobs need to not worry about weather SC keeps the Rebel battle Flag flying either. Until the NAACP stops racist and fascist gun control laws they have no room to complain about the confederate battle and even then its a state issue not a national issue.

I believe that’s slick marketing where nothing is above the price of redemption and the state gets to pitch to the fundamentalist in need of reassurance, that they and their cars are coming to the promise land not mater how evil the price of gas.

Is it really going to damage anyone's faith to allow a Christian to proclaim on their license plate that they are a Christian?

The enemies of Christ and America rear their ugly heads again on this forum and in this lawsuit to stop the good people from displaying their faith.

And yes, Kerfuffle, the fundies will all cry about being "persecuted", but they'll have to just get over it. This isn't the Christian States of America.

I like the poster that stated religion didn't belong on the back end of a Pinto. Very good!

Christianity is not the only faith. It's either all or nothing. All faiths and non-faiths deserve a fair representation, not just Xtianity. Let's not forget that Xtianity does not hold a monopoly on religion, it's just one of many.

I don't believe in fairy tales and imaginary cloud guys. It is you who should get your head out of the sand and come back to reality.

Regardless, what one believes is not the issue. The issue at hand is that if SC wants to put religion on a license plate, it needs to represent ALL religions: Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and all of the other "-isms" that people follow. The error lies in only providing one choice when there are so many.

As far as Christianity being the "truth", that is a matter of opinion.*Your* truth is certainly not mine, and I can safely say that it isn't many other's either.

Truth is subjective.

Have any of you seen Obama's little Marxist kids on CNN?

talking about how they are looking forward to changing their rooms in the white house...see obamatrons? even his little commie kids are looking forward to running up the national debt and spend our hard earn tax money.

Obama and his Marxist, elitist, black liberation theology kids must STAY OUT of the white house.

For the sake of the nation.
