I guess you don't have a problem with abuse, as long as its American soldiers doing it? Look, I don't want those photos released either. It was done by a few bad apples. But our soldiers set the standard for the world to follow, not the other way around. And if we dont' want another 911, then we can't give those who hate us cause to say we unfairly punish others, but cover up the crimes of our own. We will stink to the world if we do this. I don't ever want another 911, and we're doing what we can to clean things up so our allies won't leave us stranded if we need their help in the future. We can't fight the terriorists alone. We're a powerful nation, but even we need allies.

We all remember 911, we all remember that Americans were killed, we are sitting in our offices and homes and most of us believe that we are country of laws and values.

We should not be ashamed of that and it should not make us sick.

Change our flawed foreign policy - release the pictures!

We all remember 9/11. The murderers who committed it were not these people, many of those we abused and indded beat to death were not the perpetrators of 9/11. Our brave young people were defending each other not America. They were lied to as America was. Many in the past have died for our freedoms at home - to condemn us at home having those freedoms they died for diminishes their sacrifice. I am not ashamed of you for your opinions and neither do you make me sick. Has we listened to more opinions and facts being yelled after 9/11 much of this useless tradgedy could have been avoided. What should make you sick are those responsible for all this who have yet to pay for their responsibility in the matter. Yell at them.

Not only that, but they threw a lot of people under the bus when Rummey claimed that the rough techniques were due to "rougue lower lever soldiers". Like the Former Bridg. General who was forced to retire when the pictures came out.

The American people should be forced to get the full picture of the horrors of war. It can turn ordinary human beings into crazed killers, rapists, and torturers. Committing sub-human acts is part and parcel of the terrorist philosophy. We are supposed to be better than that, and we usually are. But horrors committed by our own military cannot be excused by citing the unspeakable acts the enemy want to wreak on us. When we say okay to such savagery, no matter who commits it, we lose our humanity.

It is easy to see why they ordered it, especially the sexual abuse. They figured that because the Muslim men were so fearful of particularly sexual abuse and dishonor and sexual humiliation, let them know via the media that if they mess with the US, they are liable to get some of the same treatment. It is a typical tactic to make your enemy fear crossing you or falling under your control. Republicans are "smart" like that, ruthless, merciless, manipulative.
