The US, in no way, should allow political dissidents shelter in this country. Yes, the US should continue to publicly protest China's human rights policies, but when does accepting dissidents end? He will get money from some university when, in fact, that University could probably hire unemployed US citizens.

Chinese dissidents know what they are getting themselves into when they become outspoken, and I applaud their bravery. They know they are martyring themselves. Their plight should be publicized by the Voice of America and be inspiration for other Chinese to rise and fight against their repression.

Harboring Chinese dissidents is just another example of The Savior placating China, as well as the liberal supporters of China who also call themselves US citizens.

For average Americans, accepting dissidents does seem like a bad idea that can be abused by unscrupulous people who simply want to move to the United States by by-passing its restrictive and lengthy immigration procedures.

However, for some American politicians, accepting dissidents is a policy tool for encouraging protests in China and other countries that have the audacity to defy it whether those protest are legitimate or not.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Libra

Is a relationship getting dull and predictable? If so, it's time to inject some spontaneity into it, preferably by doing things on the spur of the moment and taking a few risks. Maybe you should go out for a meal for a change. There could also be a surprise in store when you realize you're attracted to someone who's totally different from your usual type.
