Yes, they know something that we either don't know or refuse to acknowledge. It's called "tradition". We don't give it much attention anymore, but other Countries and belief systems still do. It's not "PC", but it is nonetheless true.

Throughout history, it has been tradition that a child inherits the belief system of the father, NOT the mother. If your father was Catholic, you are Catholic. If your father was Muslim, you are Muslim. Same goes with nationality. It was the father's heritage that was acknowledged over the mother's. You can't change your family history as you were born into it. You can only acknowledge it or deny it, but it remains as a part of you.

THAT is the part that they know or understand, and many of us refuse to accept. Why? Because our Country is based on freedom. Women (Mothers) are accepted in this society as being equal to Men (Fathers)- not so in other traditions, belief systems and/or Countries.
