Losing an arm on the job is not worth any amount of money.
He will be compensated, but I'd rather have my arm back.

Aha wrote: <quoted text> You sound like someone in management. Having worked in a car plant as a manager, let me tell you, managers are limited to what they can tell a member of labor. If an employee climbs inside a stamping press to get a wayward piece of sheet metal, you can tell them not to, but then the shop steward is riding your butt and you are getting plant management on you for "creating a hostile environment". I kid you not. Management is damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

If I had to guess I'd say a shortcut was taken. Not all repairs can be made while using the lock out... some repairs require the machine to be on, so what should you do then?? And you don't have to guess, a mans arm was lost don't add insult to injury! This man is a wonderful person who follows rules and procedures in his life and at his job!!!

I hope nothing happens to you that would change your whole entire world...and the world of your wife who is devastated by your bedside or for your two children and you baby grandson...because his life is turned upside down and you are making a joke!

Sorry Bubba.....under no circumstances should anyone stick anything into a piece of moving machinery.....maybe someone needs to look at the operating procedures, they appear flawed. Anyway......I also hope the fellow is doing well and wish him the best.
