um...here is a clue...it's a WILD ANIMAL. When will people stop trying to domestic what is intended to be wild?

It would be a shame to put that magnificant animal to death. There is no telling what provoked the animal and everyone should carefully review every circumstance that occured that day. If they are afraid of him, send him to a rehabilitation facility and let him live out his life with other wild animals. Don't condem the bear for just what it is....a wild animal. If the bear is but to sleep, then I go along with Virginia McKenna in calling for an end to the use of all wild animals for anything but what they were born on this earth to be....WILD!

Even though it is tragic that Stephan died, when you are working with wild animals, this is the chance you take, and you know it. Just because you have years of experience, or have raised this animal does not make it tame. It is the nature of the beast, and they should not be destroyed for that.In the end, they are WILD animals. Why should they be killed for being what they naturally are?

I think that being a bear was warning enough.

Here we go again - wanting to kill an animal that in nature would be doing what comes natural - a wild animal is just that WILD - and if one is going to handle a wild animal, then the unexpected should be expected - and the animal should NOT be punished for it.

What a tragic story. They should slit the bears throat and give him a slow painful death. Then feed him to the poor and make a rug out of his skin.

It is a shame that we keep these poor "WILD" animals in cages. It is the same for zoos and the tiger that killed th boy a few months ago. These animals belong in the wild. I feel for this guy and his family. No one deserves what happened to him. "And to Chief, I wish you would stick to the Alababma news, you r are pretty much an idiot"

To whom it may concern,
The bear in this article is my cousin Vinny D. Bear. He is a recovering man eater who is still in theropy for his addiction. He never made it to the class on alerting humans to avoid being eaten. This has been strain on our family greatly. I hope this unfortunate incident has no bearing our future movie apperances.

You are correct!! In addition to that, who knows how this poor animal was really treated behind the scenes. Altho' it does not take much to make a wild animal in captivity snap!!
