OSHA cites Shippensburg foundry for alleged violations

We all know... us emplyees and the ones who worked at Domestic Casting before, that OSHA gives us training every year, what they do...they come and explain the same thing every year. Same old same old. The same every time. It has been like this for the entire -14- years that I have worked there. Do they walk inside the plant to explain to us what is dangerous and what's not?? Nooooo. They come and show us the same old videos that they've been showing us for -15- years. The only ones that walk into the plant, are the ones who are giving us the fine, and/or the citation... Come on OSHA train us how to work, how to be safe. Guide us inside the plant. Come and give us a good, real training. And if we do not follow or obey your rules... Then you can do your job.

OSHA trained us like this. How they train us... that's how we run. An old saying...

Ride with the thief, and you will learn to steal.

A good trainer will have the employees interact with the trainer and keep it interesting for everyone.

It should be more than showing a video and have everyone in the room sign a sheet of paper.
