OSHA fines John Prouty Construction Inc. $201,600, for violations

I find it somewhat appauling that OSHA can show up hours after an accident and dirt moving and presume to know what ALLEGEDLY happend on this site. When really it's tragic but simple as to what happend that day. One man took a wrong step fell into the trench and 3 heroes tried to save him. Now some would like to think that Prouty Construction is to blame and of course would like to sue the Company. I am not sure what there way of thinking is on how this is somehow going to ease there pain, but isn't it amazing how some would like to take the heroic act of 3 men and turn it into something ugly like a lawsuit. Two of the heroes had worked for Prouty Construction for several years, one in fact for 15 years. I would hate to think anyone would take 15 years of experience from these men and turn around and now say they didn't know exacty how to do their job. The other hero had not worked for Prouty Construction as long as the other two heroes but had worked for him for a few years and dearly loved his job and prided himself in knowing how to do his job. May each and everyone of these Heroes be blessed for eternity knowing they gave their lives to save another. This story is a true story about how much love there is in this world. Lets not take such a heroic act and turn it into something ugly just because OSHA ALLEGEDLY is assuming. The fact is the only ones that really know happend that day are the four men that now rest in heaven. God Bless you all!!

First of all I must say how it always amazes me how stupid and ignorant people can truly be after the facts are out and in writing. Travis did not FALL in the hole he was already in it. No one there that day had any documented training for the job or the risks they were put in. Those 3 men are hero's and they died trying to save the lives of there friends and co-workers. OSHA is trained to investigate those things after this many years I'm sure they know what there doing to make those decisions. And once again if you knew what the fuck you we're talking about you'd know that what he was fined for proceedures they all should of been trained for and for not having correct safty equiptment for the job. Which therefore even after all was disturb from the rescue the still remain fact not assumion. And your right David was well known and experience in his job and how he was used to doing it. But by saying that had they been supplied with the proper traning and epuiptment this might not be the issue at hand today. 4 families wouldnt reap the negligence of the matter. As for lawsuits im not sure anyone has filled any and no matter what money would come out of one would one be considered death money to the families. And why shouldnt they have lawyers John Prouty did from the second he heard. Think, investigate and save the families from heartache this bullshit triggers.

Travis did not fall in the hole he was in it working. This is documented and told by the only person who was there. Getting the facts before you open your mouth causing the families anger and pain might be a wise idea. As for lawsuits not sure there is any and those that did hire lawyers have every right John prouty does and no one cared about that. Death money is not what the families want those men had wives and young children with long lives and needs.
They are suffering from something you have not experienced and have no right to judge how they feel or react to this. Jon prouty and a million other construction companies have cut corners in matters such as these and why they be held responsible.
All the citations that were issued have no baring on the cite being disturb from the rescue if you knew what you were talking about you might come to the understanding that safety would exsist even after rescue and even in 15 years of doing something right or wrong you can never prepare for that kinda thing to happen and that is why there are rules and regulation and required equiptment in these jobs.
Those men died heros trying to save there friends and co-workers. And they maybe wouldnt of been faced with that situation had all things had been supplied.
So no one except the ignorantance of the people that speak what they feel without fact is taking anything away from those men. David had 15 years of experience in his job and he knew all the things this is to know and without ever having the right equiptment he did What he had done a million other times without and nothing happened. Things might be alot different had they been supplied with everything to do the job correctly. Thats on there boss and contractors not the men who died.

What I know, what each of us will see as my truth, is John Prouty is still driving around the area, on his cellphone, acting as self important as he always has. We lost our spouses, our fathers, our brothers, our friends, and mainly the ones we love. We struggle with that truth each and every day that we wake up, we go to sleep, we work! He has made millions on the backs of his workers that he could not even spent the time or money on safety equipment that could have prevented this entire nightmare. OSHA had a job to do at the end of this, and they did it. A job they would not have had to do if Prouty had done his job in the first place. I am angered for the families of each of these men by the comments made out of ignorance and just spite. Word hurt, and they hurt people that hurting each second of each day, and do not deserve anyone to tread on them anymore. We cannot imagine what another endures in a tragedy such as this, so we should not assume we have the right to make comments against their actions. I say, and its my opinion, go after him for all he has, because his actions took all you had!!!
