Here in Michigan, our state constitution (article I section 6)guarantees us the right to bear arms for the defense of ourselves and the state. The only travesty is that he missed the target! If more law abiding citizens would carry, the crime rate would fall dramaticly!

I wonder if a worker opened up on the thugs with a can of aqua-net or fix a flat would they be fired?

What if he clunked the guy in the skull with a huge bag of puppy chow - or captured the creep with a Snuggie- how about a big jug of tide right in the ungie bungieeee? I think the as seen on tv section has some great weapons. Many police say always look for something to use.

Too bad he missed! Citizens should have the right to defend themselves against feral animals like the would be robbers.

Judged: 1 If customers knew pharmacists were packing guns I think that would be awkward at best. How do I give a flu shot with a gun somehow concealed on my person ? It would not be long before people would be suing stating the RPH threatened to shoot me and all other sorts of nonsense. I worked in the worst Wag store in the state of Ohio for 2 years. We had an armed guard at all times. It did not stop the gang bangers from doing initiations behind the store at night and the lot was littered with hypodermics. I truly hated my time there and I was truly afraid more than once. Code 80 out the door was routine there. Everyday. But we have other options. Ask for relocation. i did. Quit if you must. i almost did. But fire arms at professional medical facilities cannot be the standard. The liability would be too much and the lawsuits would fly. Im happy this RPH in Michigan had a gun for his own sake but if CRW condones the behavior in the future then it would be the Wild wild west. And that he did not know that CRW does not allow firearms is BS, total utter BS. Happy it worked out for him but you cannot have gun toting employees. Get an off duty police officer or find a new job. Clint Eastwood is only in the movies. |

The other day I had a guy come in with a script for oxycodone. I was going to fill it, it was printed and ready to be filled, checked and rung up. It so happens it was a friday, everyone wanted to get a script filled and wait and I was working with a tech who was not that great. Guy takes advantage of the situation and starts a scene, blah this and that. Bottom line when he spoke to me he was mean, said all kind of things, I mean he was totally out of line. He said fill my script now or else. I politely empatised and told him he had several people ahead of him. Only for him to take a swing at me, which he missed luckily. He took his Rx back with all the pleasantries of a gutter rat.
I felt unsafe, unprotected and vulnerable. Script was a fake at the end of the day and I don't pack a WEAPON. For weeks I taught this guy was coming back to do me harm. That's not what I signed up for. Would this situation be different if he knew I was protected. Or if he knew he could not bring in a fake and disrespect me. |
