Driver hurt when fuel tanker overturns on U.S. 62/180

Full story: Carlsbad Current-Argus

A tanker truck full of diesel fuel overturned on U.S. 62/180 in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park between the Pine Springs Visitor Center and the Frijole Ranch Road at approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, said Rachel Vegors of the National Parks Service.

Have you ever seen the speeds people travel between Carlsbad and White City and beyond? Particularly large trucks? This does not surprise me. Hope the driver is OK...

The article states: Motorists traveling to or from El Paso are advised to find an alternate route
What would they be please? I only know 62/180.

285 South to Pecos, TX then I-20 West to I-10 West to El Paso.

Or across to Queen then El Paso gap road to Dell City. Road not anywhere near as good, but a lot shorter

Try a web site called google,go to maps and select alternate directions,something like that. If your city has a Hastings go buy a road map.

I work at a place awhile back and they people from out of town that went to the cave and they would always ask how to get from place to place and I want to ask them why you don't have map? you dump out of townerns I dont under stand?
