Dear Senator Harkin, As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.
My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.
Simply put those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.
Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year.
Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as 'in-state tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.
Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.
If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative.
Thank you for your assistance. Your Loyal Constituent, Donald Ruppert Burlington , IA

Sad, but true; why any illegal alien would want citizenship in beyond me. Even the citizens don't want it anymore

Perhaps you need to check reality again. If you sneak into Mexico: Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be Imprisoned. Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different is subject to fine and imprisonment. Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as Felons. Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison . Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned. Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population States… "A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." http://www.newswithviews.com/Slagle/john18.ht... |

Judged: 1 1 1 Perhaps you may have realised by now most of the people crossing the border into the USA are those who are facing real hardship and in hopes of a better life but to no avail, with tough immigration laws as well coupled with some of its hostile citizenry life here can be less than a dogs for many. |

Considering his father was a Kenyan communist revolutionary, and that he was raised in the Muslim faith in Indonesia, it's not surprising. Wake up America.. it's almost too late. |

Judged: 1 1 1 I see you have bought into the sob stories. Many of those crossing the border came here strictly out of greed. They live several families to a single family dwelling, share expenses and send everything they save back to their home country. It amounts to Billions of dollars leaving this country each year. That does a lot for our economy doesn't it? If they feel that they are being treated like dogs, let them return to their home country where I'm sure they will be treated with much greater respect. I worked for 5 years at a company that employed more than 700 people, ran two shifts, and more than half of them were in this country illegally. I can't even begin to count the number who were building nice homes in their home countries with money earned illegally in the USA. I say earned illegally because it is not legal for them to work here. That company now uses E-Verify, they are a world wide company. This country is the most compassionate and caring country int he world but there comes a time when the citizenry begins to recognize when they have been taken advantage of by people of other countries and that time has come. Expecting our immigration laws to be enforced and our borders and ports of entry to be secured does not show a lack of compassion, it shows common sense and respect for our laws. If those who came here illegally had any respect for our laws, they would not be here illegally and they would not be taking advantage of government programs that they should not be legally entitled to. Obama's Aunt is a prime example of their sense of entitlement. Obama's aunt says US has "obligation" to grant her citizenship Read more at: http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/obamas-aunt... Lack of respect for our laws and a sense of entitlement has not endeared these illegal aliens to the American citizens who are paying the taxes that foot the bill for their "entitlements". |

I had no problem getting along with them and did not realize that most of them were illegal until one of them molested a 9 year old boy and was arrested at work. Contrary to popular belief, like anyone else, there were those who worked hard, those who hid from supervisors to avoid work and those who would steal your lunch and uniforms if given the chance. I did not go around asking people if they were here illegally, that was not my job and I was not a supervisor, I worked the same jobs the illegals did. I still do not ask people if they are here illegally, it is the job of law enforcement to determine that issue. I found out that most of them were illegals when the company started using E-Verify and they started to leave. I fight illegal immigration because I believe it is unfair for illegals to take advantage of our country and it's benefits and that those who commit further crimes after illegal entry could not commit them here if they were not here to begin with. I believe there needs to be immigration reform but it needs to be in the area of legal immigration and not used as a reward for those who came here illegally. |

Judged: 1 1 1 When I was first interviewed for my current employer 11 years ago, I remember a guy at the interview who successfully passed the interview. We were in the pre-employed status where you have to 'prove' you're legal to work in the USA. We were all asked to present a photo ID and our social security #. Then I heard the HR manager tell the guy that he cannot be hired without documentation and to leave. We all assumed that the flake was an illegal. So why did I think he was an illegal? He was Hispanic. Yea I know. That's bigoted but come on, what else was I to think? Just remember, I'm Hispanic too. |
