I was pizzed then and every time I think about it I get pizzed. They check a U.S. citizen's credit, but they don't have the availabilty to check an illegals! I'm self employed and resent it when the govt states "we have millions of people without heath insurance, so everyone else has to pay for their medical care." Hog wash, I'm pizzed my federal tax dollars are paying for illegals, while I pay for mine out of pocket. The only thing we need is the opportunity to cross state lines for our best policy and rates!
You are right, it's infuriating to say the least. I've had similar experiences having taken my son and my sister to emergency on several occasions!!! it's sickening!

illegal aliens are covered somewhere in this. just look at the many name changes for illegal aliens,or them being left out will be said to be a typo and added in.

either way they will not be fined and will still flood our er's at our cost.

ILLEGAL immigration has always been a problem but in some cases are used as a scapegoat.

Emergency Room visits don't necessarily equal treatment for non emergency conditions either.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/07/opinion/carroll...

Hospitals especially love to say how much money they "lost". But did they actually lose money and not cover costs OR did they not make as much as they would've from an over inflated bill to an insurance company? Unpaid services period cost money but at the end of the day did all those crying hospitals lose money because of ILLEGAL immigrants? Did they lose money at all? Remember alot of hospitals must maintain NON profit status for tax exemptions so it's to their advantage to over inflate their "losses" or show their "losses" at a rate an insurance company wouldn't even pay.

ILLEGAL immigration IS a big problem. But are they the medical industry's problem.

in my area they are a huge problem for hospitals. even when opening free clinics for them they refuse to leave the er and go. triage tells them it is not a reason to be in the er go to your dr or the clinic, they cannot be refused treatment know it and refuse to go.
seems the only way to keep them out is private hospitals fenced and guarded, members can slide their card to get in the gate that way medical staff are not refusing to treat them.

It doesn't need to- they already get free healthcare, courtesy of federal mandate.

Correct. Every illegal in America gets free health care and medicine at the direct expense of the citizen tax slaves now. That is only one of the reasons History will define us as too stupid to handle the adult responsilities of self government which brought America down.

Let them flood the ER. No preventive care so when they show up at the ER they are at death's door.

I would like to know what the big deal is on the Obama health care? I obviously am not informed well enough because the only thing I see is that everyone will have health insurance. Employers with more than 50 employees will be required to provide health care for workers. Insurance companies will no longer disqualify individuals based off pre-existing conditions? Thats all I know so far so can someone please explain what the cons of this new health plan are? Thanks in advance.
1. Everyone will not have health care insurance due to the fact that illegal immigrants are exempt from having to abide by Obama Care. Meanwhile, these same illegal immigrants will continue to receive free unlimited health care at our expense.

2. Obama Care will do little, or nothing, in addressing our skyrocketing health care costs (which are largely driven by illegal immigrant H.C. costs). Obama Care will, most likely, help to drive overall H.C. costs even higher.

3. Many of those who will be required to carry H.C. insurance via Obama Care will not pay for it due to their low, or no, income status (i.e. much of Obama's current voter base).

4. Obama Care has raised H.C. insurance premiums by 50% to 100% for most non public assistance reliant people.

The bottom line here is that Obama Care does not address the very thing that has largely ruined our health care system, i.e. non-paying illegal immigrants.

Can't you see how Divided the nation is? don't you feel the unrest in the air? citizens are very perplexed as to why Obama has gotten away with SO MUCH including the F & F SCANDEL where Holder now can't be prosecuted, why? what is he hiding? why is he protecting his lying DOJ head?? but if you think all this is NOTHING to worry about, I just hope to God that all citizens really keep themselves informed so they can vote intelligently having armed themselves well with information on their best pick for president.
Are yousaying that the country was of one accord before Mr. Obama? Get real! The man saved the country from going ointo a depression the likes of which the country, thank god, has only seen once before. If you're serious about becoming an informed voter, I hope you'll check out cites and articles that don't exclusively support your irrational fear and distrust of the man.

That is pretty much correct. The Feds states that annually the Feds/taxpayers foot roughly $97,000,000,00 (97 BILLION) a year for the uninsured. Of that amount the Feds state roughly $58,000,000,00 is for illegal aliens.
Those amounts do not include what taxpayers in individual states pay. In Texas the last numbers out were 2010 and uninsured people cost Texas taxpayers just over $2,000,000,00 that year. That was after what the Feds kicked in on their end.
The amount atributable to illegal aliens was roughly half to a little over half the total amount.
Parkland Hospital in Dallas is the second largest and busiest maternity ward in America and their labor and delivery costs in 2011 for illegal aliens birthing children at the hospital was just under $56,000,000,00 after the Feds kicked in their $21,000,000.00 to specifically offset the cost to the hospital and county taxpayers for caring for illegal aliens.
Most of the women were birthing their 3rd child there.
Dallas County and the City of Dallas taxpayers were the ones paying the $56,000,000,00 with higher property taxes, sales taxes, city and county fees, and of course the local hospital district.
What did each illegal alien pay on their hospital bill as they left with their new anchor? 0

Well said Austinite.

Everyone should also consider the following:

The national average costs of birthing just one child runs from $6-$15K. These costs can run much much higher during "problem" pregnancies.

Illegal immigrants who happen to work (most do not work) usually earn less than $8k a year.

Meanwhile, the average illegal immigrant family has more than double the number of children compared to legal citizen families.

The end result of this nonsense is that illegals have had a very large part in ruining our health care system. Illegals, and their U.S. born offspring have also done much to bankrupt and/or ruin our public education, public assistance, and prison systems.

This country, as we've known it, can not continue to import millions of poorly educated and/or taxpayer dependent third world people who pay little, or nothing, for the benefits we give them.

not all of them showing up at an er needs treatment from an er. these folks just show up for petty things making those who do need er treatment have to wait.

even with clinics right on hospital grounds they refuse to leave the er.makes no sense being they get the services for free.

one thing for sure if you need stitches or a bone set you will be waiting behind those who see to us er's for a social meeting place.
