I sort of get a kick out of it myself NTR. I say how I feel and don't really care if any certain group agrees with me or not. I don't have group mentality unless it's against illegal immigration, and then I still don't always agree. I'm not always right about things either.

They don't deserve special treatment from the government, but they get it from both sides.

This is the kind of crap that pizzes me off. Do you think Romney could get away with 'White Americans for Romney'? I know it was bad for blacks when I was growing up, but enough of the double standard.

"Their extraordinary hope, their unwavering determination changed this country. Their efforts made it possible for somebody like me to be here today."
African Americans for Obama will be a part of Operation Vote, the campaign's outreach arm to select voting blocs, including African Americans, Hispanics, Jews, LGBTQs, youth and older voters.

I still don't see any correlation between peoples' bad health choices and their race, nor do I accept that you're an adult raised in America who doesn't seem to have any idea why so many minorities are still locked in poverty. The children of Appalachia are living in deeply entrenched poverty as well. It's just that most of them aren't black. They do, however, come from generational poverty and welfare use. Should we charge them more for healthcare as well? I suppose they all chose to be born poor? I don't know why they didn't just leave home at six and enroll at Springfield Chestnut Hill Academy and make something of themselves. Oh, but Noooooo! They went to rinky dink second rate mountain schools that were underfunded and which afforded very little in the way of academic pre-college curriculum. The lazy bums!

Years ago, one spring vacation to my grandparents, I rode the little yellow bus up the winding mountain road in Estill County with the kids down the pike who hadn't started their vacation, just to tag along and have something to do. It was quite literally a one room clapboard school house with a center aisle separating the entirety of the elementary school: grades 1-3 on the left and grades 4-6 on the right. One teacher taught all six grades. Two spelling bees took place that day, one for the little ones, one for the older group. Imagine teaching 35 kids of various ages in a one room school house. This wasn't prairie days. It was in the late 1950's. I won the spelling bee. Not hard. I came from the "big city". Sheesh. I wasn't any brighter. I just had the benefit of attending a very solid public school for middle-class children. Those schools were excellent in those long ago days.

Poor children attend poor schools, and they get what their poor parents' tax dollars can supply - an inferior education in a system that's geared to better schools in higher income neighborhoods. Poorly educated people tend to remain poor.

Don't take this like I'm a racist against whites, but the difference is that, Whites are a majority and Blacks are a minority.

It's not a double standard.

If whites become the minority in fifty years or so, and then they are persecuted for forming a "whites for Romney" campaign then it would be a double standard.

Minority groups face having to band together because of the fact that they are a minority.

One thing you COULD do is go after the present day companies whose predecessor companies owned slaves or engaged in the slave trade. Shipping companies, insurance companies, etc, probably some real estate companies.

Actually this is an old argument. After the emancipation, republican aboilitionists argued FOR manumission.
