Of course that also applies to New Orleans even more since they built below sea level and in government fashion paid people to live there. Well done.

Waht was he supposed to fill the coffers with? Aren't we totally broke?
Aren't we mad about the gov't spending money?
Now just because it rained for 2 days the federal Gov't has to spend more money?
Aren't these people insured? Don't these states have a plan to pay for their own services?

Just a quick comment on Katrina....
The biggest killer in that storm was the Mayor C. Ray Nagin. His decision to open the Superdome and Convention center, with absolutely NO provisions, NO services, NO security, NO nothing is 90% responsible for the people who died.

The republicans control the purse strings and have talked about cutting everything, and then when a disaster hits it’s Obama that is slow to fill the coffers?!?!?
The GOP are cold-hearted bastards that would look to cut from Medicare in order to put money in earthquake and hurricane relief… and that’s from a right-winger whose own district was hit by both an earthquake and a hurricane. So his logic is to take away Medicare from seniors in his district to fix infrastructure damage by the quake and saturated by the hurricane.

I am guessing that many feel that no poor people were bothered by the storm and no infrastructure was harmed. Probably missed the reports of inland flooding as well.

When the president declares an emergency he assumes responsibility, meaning the government will help pay.

What he has done is take disaster funds intended for areas that were struck by tornadoes and hurricanes and redirected them to the current hurricane.

So now instead of defaulting on our loan obligations we are defaulting on our obligations to victims of disaster, good job.

One of the problems with maxing out your credit card, no money for emergencies, thank the man with no plan, once again.

The good news is that the illegals will have lots of work.
